What is the difference between State PSC and UPSC exams?

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the civil services examination (CSE) which is a yearly event conducted on pan-India level. The state PSC exams on the other hand are conducted for state-level recruitment exams. Candidates with the domicile of the respective state can apply for the state PSC exams.

The exam pattern of UPSC as well as the state PSC are generally the same, the major chunk of the syllabus of UPSC as well as the state PSC covers general study subjects.
