UPSC IAS Answer Key 2019 – The answer key of UPSC Civil Services contains the correct answers to the questions asked in the examination. Various coaching institutes such as Career Launcher, NeoStencil and BYJU’s Classes will release the answer key within a few hours after the completion of the exam stage. How calculate score with UPSC IAS Answer Key 2019 (Prelims)?

To get an estimate of the probable score, candidates must first cross-check the answers provided by them in the exam with that mentioned in the answer key. On the basis of the number of correct and incorrect responses provided in the exam, candidates can predict their estimated score. However, to calculate their probable score, candidates must be familiar with the marking scheme of the examination. The detailed marking scheme for the exam are provided below. 

UPSC Civil Services – Marking scheme

  • For every correct answer in GS Paper 1, candidates will be awarded 2 marks
  • For correct answer in Paper 2, candidates will be allotted 2.5 marks
  • Negative marking is applicable for both the papers and 1/3 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer

Formula to calculate aggregate score in UPSC Civil Services 2019:

Score = [(Correct answers in GS Paper 1 x 2) – (Number of incorrect response x 0.66)] + [(Correct responses in GS Paper 2 x 2.5) – (Number of incorrect response x 0.83)]

UPSC Civil Services Result 2019

The result of UPSC Civil Services prelims exam is likely to be announced in July/August 2019. The result will be release online in the form of a PDF file containing the names of candidates selected to appear for mains examination. Marks obtained in prelims exam will not be considered while preparing the final merit list. UPSC IAS result for mains will be declared in December while the final result will be released in March/April.

UPSC Civil Services Cut off 2019

The Commission will release the cut off for all stages of the exam - prelims, mains and final cut off. The cut off for all the stages will be published after the completion of the selection process, that is, after the declaration of the final result. The cut off is the minimum marks that candidates must secure in each exam stage to be shortlisted for the next phase of the exam. Apart from the official cut off, various coaching institutes will also prepare the expected cutoff for the examination.
