BPSC Civil Services Cutoff 2018 – Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will release the cut off of BPSC Civil Services for Mains exam along with the result. BPSC has released the result and cutoff of 63rd Combined Competitive Examination on October 14, 2019, link to which has been provided below. Candidates securing equal to or more than BPSC Civil Services cut off 2018 as per their categories in the mains examination will be selected for Personality Test. Earlier, the exam conducting body had released the cutoff of BPSC Civil Services for preliminary exam on February 24, 2019. The cut off has been published along with the result of prelims exam. The Commission has prepared separate cut off for female candidates of each category. The qualifying cutoff was announced by the examination authority along with the notification, which is 40% for general category while it is 36.5% for OBC. Besides the qualifying cutoff, candidates must also secure the overall cutoff to be selected for subsequent exam stages.
The 64th BPSC Civil Services 2018 preliminary exam was conducted by BPSC on December 16. BPSC Civil Services cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to score to qualify the exam and become eligible for next round. BPSC Civil Services cutoff 2018 is determined based on factors like difficulty level of exam, number of candidates appeared for the exam and number of vacancies.

Qualifying cutoff – To qualify the BPSC Civil Services Prelims exam, candidates need to secure the qualifying marks as prescribed by the exam conducting authority. The mains exam of BPSC Civil Services comprises General Hindi, General Studies Paper I and II and optional paper. Total marks allotted for mains exam is 900. In Hindi paper, candidates are required to secure 30% i.e. 30 marks. The general Hindi paper is qualifying in nature.

The two posts which you mentioned Deputy Collector (DC) and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) are not different. SDM is a post given to administrative officer below level of district. A district is divided into several Sub-Divisions (tehsils) and the head of those sub-divisions is called as SDM. The Deputy Collector can get several ranks in district level. SDM is one such post a Deputy Collector can acquire.
