The Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer 2021 exam has two papers - paper 1 and 2. SSC JE Paper 1 is conducted in online mode as it has multiple choice questions, whereas SSC JE paper 2 is conducted in offline mode. The syllabus for SSC JE paper 1 and 2 exams are prescribed separately by the SSC for all the junior engineer posts of a civil, mechanical and electrical engineer. Properties, Advantages and uses of concrete, cement aggregates, the importance of water quality, water-cement ratio, workability, mix design, storage, batching, mixing, placement, compaction, finishing etc.
RCC beams-flexural strength, shear strength, bond strength, design of singly reinforced and doubly reinforced beams, cantilever beams. T-beams, lintels. One way and two-way slabs, isolated footings. Reinforced brick works, columns, staircases, retaining wall etc.

SSC JE paper 2 electrical engineering syllabus
Concepts of resistance, inductance, capacitance, and various factors affecting them. Concepts of current, voltage, power, energy and their units.
Kirchhoff‟s law, Simple Circuit solution using network theorems.
Concepts of flux, mmf, reluctance, Different kinds of magnetic materials, Magnetic calculations for conductors of different configuration e.g. straight, circular, solenoidal, etc. Electromagnetic induction, self and mutual induction.
Instantaneous, peak, R.M.S. and average values of alternating waves, Representation of sinusoidal waveform, simple series and parallel AC Circuits consisting of R.L. and C, Resonance, Tank Circuit etc
Measurement and measuring instruments
Measurement of power (1 phase and 3 phase, both active and reactive) and energy, 2 wattmeter method of 3 phase power measurement. Measurement of frequency and phase angle.

SSC JE Exam Pattern 2021
SSC JE exam pattern is prescribed by the Commission in its JE official notification. As per the SSC JE notification, the JE paper 1 exam is 200 marks with negative marking. NO, you cannot give SSC JE exam, as the Diploma holders in mining field are not eligible to give SSC JE Exam. The Eligibility criteria to give SSC JE Exam says that Candidates should have B.E/B. Tech. Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university to fulfill the SSC JE Educational Qualification requirements.

The education qualification requirements for SSC Junior Engineer is different for each post. As per the SSC JE 2022 Eligibility criteria the candidates who have passed 4 year B. Tech in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering and 3 year Diploma in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering are eligible to apply for various posts which will be specified in the SSC JE Notification. As you have graduated or pursuing Electronics and Communication Engineering you are not eligible to apply for SSC JE.
