IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2019 - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) prescribes the exam pattern of IBPS PO 2019. The examination authority releases IBPS PO 2019 exam pattern along with the notification. It is important for the candidates to go through IBPS PO exam pattern before they start preparing for the exam. IBPS PO exam pattern 2019 contains various sections from where the questions are expected to be asked, marks distribution, time allotment etc. By going through IBPS PO 2019 exam pattern, candidate will also be able to know the various stages in which the exam will be held. As per the IBPS PO exam pattern 2019 , the test will be held in three stages - prelims, mains and interview. Candidates who pass in prelims will have to appear for the mains exam of IBPS PO while mains qualified candidates will have to appear for the interview round.As per IBPS PO 2019 exam pattern, the test of each stage will be held in online mode. In the prelims exam of IBPS PO 2019, there will be questions from three sections - Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English containing a total of 100 marks. However, the mains exam will be conducted for a total of 200 marks containing questions from five sections - Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation.In the mains exam of IBPS PO, a descriptive test for Letter writing and Essay writing of 25 marks will also be conducted. The prelims exam of IBPS PO is the first stage in the selection process of the examination. As per the exam pattern of IBPS PO, all those candidates who qualify in the prelims exam will qualify for the mains exam. The table below contains the sections from where the questions will be asked in the prelims exam, number of questions asked from each section, mark allotted for the section, mode of the test, allotted time etc.

The prelims exam has questions from three sections - Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.
English Language sections have 30 questions of 1 mark each while the Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude have 35 questions carrying 1 mark each.
The test is held in both Hindi and English except of English which is held in only English.
Each of the three section is allotted 20 minutes within which candidates must complete each section which means the test is conducted for a total of 100 marks.
For each wrong response given by the candidate, 0.25 marks will be deducted. No marks will be deducted in case the answer is left unanswered.
Only those candidates will be able to appear for the mains exam who will qualify in the prelims phase. According to the IBPS PO 2019 exam pattern, candidates qualifying in the mains exam will have to appear for the Interview round. All those candidates who will pass the mains exam will be called for the interview round. For the interview round, 100 marks is allotted. The interview is conducted to test the candidate's personality and knowledge of the banking sector, current affairs etc.

In IBPS PO prelims, there are a total of 100 questions each carrying 1 mark. In preliminary exam, there are 30 questions in english, 35 questions in quantitative aptitude and 35 questions in reasoning ability. There is a sectional cut-off in all the 3 sections which you will need to qualify separately as well as the overall cutoff. As a result of this, every year the cut-off changes. In 2018, the cut-off was 56.75 for general, 55.50 for OBC, 49.25 for SC and 41.75 for ST category. So try to solve correctly more number of questions as there is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
