The authority had released the IBPS Clerk scorecard for prelims exam on January 11. Candidates could download their scores by entering registration/roll number and date of birth/password in the result login window till January 20. IBPS had declared the IBPS Clerk result 2018 for prelims exam on January 4. Candidates who scored the minimum qualifying marks (sectional as well as overall) in the prelims exam of IBPS Clerk, were shortlisted to appear in the mains exam. All those candidates who qualify in the mains exam of IBPS Clerk 2018 will be shortlisted for the provisional allotment at different Banks on the merit-cum-preference basis. The Provisional allotment is done taking only the marks of mains exam into consideration.
The exam of IBPS Clerk is conducted in the two phases – prelims and mains. The mains exam was conducted on January 20, 2019 while the preliminary exam was held on December 8, 9, 15, and 16. Candidates who qualify both the phases of the selection process of IBPS Clerk are recruited in the Clerical Cadre.

The result of the prelims exam has been declared by the examination authority in online mode. By using the login credentials, candidates could download their IBPS Clerk prelims result in 2018. The prelims result of IBPS Clerk contained the following details:

The result of IBPS Clerk 2018 is declared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates. The prelims exam is conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability carries 35 marks each while the English Language carries 30 marks. In order to qualify the preliminary stage, candidates must score category wise sectional and overall qualifying marks determined by the examination authority. Candidates who score both sectional and overall qualifying marks will be shortlisted to appear in the mains exam of IBPS Clerk 2018. It must be remembered that the marks scored in the prelims exam are of qualifying nature only and is not included while preparing the provisional allotment list.
IBPS has announced the mains result of IBPS Clerk 2018 for shortlisting the candidates in the Clerical cadre. In order to access IBPS Clerk result 2018 for mains exam, candidates can use their login credentials. IBPS Clerk mains result contains the details related to a candidate's name, registration number, roll number and the qualifying status of the candidates.
The examination authority will also release the mains scorecard after the declaration of mains result of IBPS Clerk 2018. By entering the login credentials in the scorecard login window, candidates will be able to fetch their marks scored in the mains exam.

IBPS Clerk Result 2018 – Mains Qualifying Marks
The examination authority will determine a minimum qualifying mark as per the category of the candidates. IBPS Clerk mains exam is conducted for 200 marks where all the five sections – Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and Quantitative Aptitude carries 40 marks each. The minimum qualifying marks will be determined for each section and overall which must be scored by the candidates for being shortlisted. The sectional and overall qualifying marks will be different for each state for which the candidates will appear. The examination authority follows the method of normalization while calculating the marks scored by the candidates. The normalization of scores will be done using an equipercentile method. Since the exam of IBPS Clerk is scheduled to be conducted in multiple shifts, the process of normalization is adapted to adjust the difficulty level of question papers.
IBPS Clerk Result 2018 - Provisional Allotment
Candidates are provided provisional allotment on the basis of marks scored in the mains exam. Since the mains exam of IBPS Clerk is conducted for 200 marks, the provisional allotment is done after converting the mains marks out of 100. A candidate must be high on the merit list in order to be considered for the provisional allotment process. The provisional allotment is done according to the availability of state/UT- wise vacancies. Shortlisted candidates are allotted different Banks on the merit-cum-preference basis.
IBPS also releases a reserve list containing about 10% of the total vacancies of IBPS Clerk. This list is released in order to keep few shortlisted candidates in reserve so that if any of the Participating Organizations provide further vacancies during April 2019-March 2020, provisional allotment will be done for those candidates in the reserve list.
IBPS had conducted IBPS Clerk 2018 exam for filling 7275 vacancies in its Clerical Cadre. The exam authority has announced state wise and category wise vacancies for recruiting candidates as clerks.
IBPS conducts a recruitment test for the clerical posts on behalf of 19 participating private sector banks and other financial institutions. Candidates who qualify in IBPS Clerk exam are allocated to different branches of these participating organizations on the merit-cum-preference basis.

As per the statistics of IBPS Clerk, there were 134100 candidates who had registered for the exam last year. Among the total registered candidates, only 931000 candidates appeared for the exam of IBPS Clerk. In 2016, the number of candidates registered was even higher. A total of 2081000 candidates registered for the IBPS Clerk exam. Among those registered candidates, only 1402000 candidates took the test.
