IBPS Clerk Result 2018 – Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will release the result of IBPS Clerk 2018 for two phases – prelims and mains. IBPS Clerk result 2018 for prelims phase is expected to be declared on or after December 30 whereas, the mains result will be declared in February 2019. In order to check IBPS Clerk result, candidates must use their registration/roll number and date of birth/password in the result login window. The examination authority will also release the scorecard after the declaration of IBPS Clerk result 2018. Candidates who score the minimum qualifying marks (sectional as well as overall) in the prelims exam of IBPS Clerk, will be shortlisted to appear in the mains exam. All those candidates who qualify in the mains exam of IBPS Clerk will be shortlisted for the provisional allotment at different Banks on the merit-cum-preference basis. The Provisional allotment will be done taking only the marks of mains exam into consideration.
The exam of IBPS Clerk 2018 is conducted in the two phases – prelims and mains. The preliminary exam is being held on December 8, 9, 15, and 16 while the mains exam will be conducted on January 20, 2019. Candidates who qualify both the phases of the selection process of IBPS Clerk will be recruited in the Clerical Cadre.

IBPS Clerk Result 2018 – Prelims Qualifying Marks
The result of IBPS Clerk 2018 will be declared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates. The prelims exam is being conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability carries 35 marks each while English Language carries 30 marks. In order to qualify the preliminary stage, candidates must score category wise sectional and overall qualifying marks determined by the examination authority. Candidates who score both sectional and overall qualifying marks will be shortlisted to appear in the mains exam of IBPS Clerk 2018. It must be remembered that the marks scored in the prelims exam are of qualifying nature only and will not be included while preparing the provisional allotment list.
IBPS Clerk Result 2018 – Mains
IBPS will announce the mains result of IBPS Clerk 2018 for shortlisting the candidates in the Clerical cadre. In order to access IBPS Clerk result 2018 for mains exam, candidates can use their login credentials. IBPS clerk mains result will contain the details related to candidates name, registration number, roll number and the qualifying status of the candidates.
IBPS Clerk Result 2018 – Mains Scorecard
The examination authority will also release the mains scorecard after the declaration of mains result of IBPS Clerk 2018. By entering the login credentials in the scorecard login window, candidates will be able to fetch their marks scored in the mains exam.

IBPS Clerk Result 2018 – Mains Qualifying Marks
The examination authority will determine a minimum qualifying marks as per the category of the candidates. IBPS Clerk mains exam will be conducted for 200 marks where all the five sections – Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and Quantitative Aptitude carries 40 marks each. The minimum qualifying marks will be determined for each section and overall which must be scored by the candidates for being shortlisted. The sectional and overall qualifying marks will be different for each state for which the candidates will appear. The examination authority will follow the method of normalisation while calculating the marks scored by the candidates. The normalization of scores will be done using equi-percentile method. Since the exam of IBPS Clerk is scheduled to be conducted in multiple shifts, the process of normalisation is adopted to adjust the difficulty level of question papers.
IBPS Clerk Result 2018 - Provisional Allotment
Candidates are provided provisional allotment on the basis of marks scored in the mains exam. Since the mains exam of IBPS Clerk is conducted for 200 marks, the provisional allotment is done after after converting the mains marks out of 100. A candidate must be high on the merit list in order to be considered for the provisional allotment process. The provisional allotment will be done according to the availability of state/UT- wise vacancies. Shortlisted candidates will be allotted different Banks on the merit-cum-preference basis.
IBPS Clerk 2018 – Reserve List
IBPS will also release a reserve list will be published containing about 10% of the total vacancies of IBPS Clerk. This list is released in order to keep few shortlisted candidates in reserve so that if any of the Participating Organizations provide further vacancies during April 2019-March 2020, provisional allotment will be done for those candidates in the reserve list.

As per the statistics of IBPS Clerk, there were 134100 candidates who had registered for the exam last year. Among the total registered candidates, only 931000 candidates appeared for the exam of IBPS Clerk. In 2016, the number of candidates registered was even higher.
