The SSC stenographer computer based test comprises three sections i.e. general intelligence & reasoning, general awareness and english language & comprehension. SSC Stenographer 2020 Exam Pattern - Skill Test
Applicants qualifying the computer based test will be eligible to appear for the stenographer Grade C and Grade D skill test. The SSC stenographer test is qualifying in nature, for which the criteria is set by SSC. In this the applicants are given dictation for 10 mins in english and Hindi both. The candidates have to transcribe the dictated content on a computer with 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for Grade C and 80 w.p.m for Grade D. SSC Stenographer involves computer based test conducted for a duration of two hours in MCQs format in English and Hindi, it involves section like general intelligence and reasoning of 50 questions carrying 50 marks,general awareness of 50 questions carrying 50 marks,and english language and comprehension of 100 questions carrying 100 marks, there's negative marking scheme of 0.25 for each wrong attempt.
Syllabus is as follows;
general intelligence and reasoning includes analogies, similarities and differences,
space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory,
discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure
classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc.
general awareness includes questions related to India and its Neighboring countries
especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General
Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research
english language and comprehension includes vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure,
synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. there is also writing ability test of candidates.
Skill test will be conducted for 55 minutes in hindi and 40 minutes in english for group C, in case of group d skill test is for a duration of 65 minutes in hindi and 50 minutes in english.

As there is not a particular diploma or certificate course you can join the Industrial preparing foundation to do a confirmation or certificate course in shorthand and composing.You can give SSC Stenographer exam which is organized by Staff Selection Commission to recruit eligible people for the post of stenographer in central government organizations.
