About SBI Clerk 2019

SBI Clerk recruitment exam is conducted by State Bank of India for the appointment of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in clerical cadre. The SBI Clerk exam is a computer based test conducted in two phases – Preliminary and Mains followed by a test of the local language. The preliminary examination of SBI Clerk is held tentatively in July while the mains exam is conducted in August. According to eligibility criteria, candidates who are between 20 to 28 years of age and completed their graduation can appear for the SBI Clerk exam. However, reserved candidates will be given age relaxation as per their category. Candidates is selected for Junior Associate post on the basis of marks secured in the mains exam only. To qualify each stage of examination – prelims and mains candidates have to secure subject wise and category wise cutoff marks as per their category. Candidates who will score higher in the SBI Clerk mains exam will be given a better rank in the merit list. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the score obtained in mains exam.

 SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2019

SBI will prescribe the eligibility criteria for clerk recruitment along with the notification. Candidates have to fulfill the eligibility requirements set by the conducting body to appear for the exam. Below are the details regarding the age limit, nationality, educational qualification, age relaxation for reserved candidates.

SBI Clerk Application Form 2019

Registration for SBI Clerk 2019 is expected to start from January. Candidates have to fill and submit the application form of SBI Clerk 2019 within prescribed dates. To apply for SBI Clerk 2019 exam, candidates have to fulfill the eligibility requirements set by State Bank of India. While filling the application form candidates have to enter valid email ID, personal, contact and educational details. SBI Clerk 2019 Exam Pattern for Preliminary Examination

  • The examination mode of SBI Clerk 2019 prelims exam is online.
  • The question will be either in English language or Hindi, except for the test of General English
  • The online test will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There will be five options given on the screen, candidates have to answer anyone.
  • Subjects of the SBI Clerk 2019 prelims exam – English language, Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability 
  • There will be a total of 100 questions carrying 1 mark each. Out of which the English language will have 30 questions while Numerical ability and Reasoning ability will have 35 questions each.
  • Each correct answer will be given 1 mark. For every incorrect response, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
  • Candidates have to attempt questions within 1 hour.

SBI Clerk Mains Exam

SBI Clerk 2019 Exam Pattern for Mains Examination

  • SBI Clerk 2019 mains exam will be conducted in online mode
  • The language of the test will be either in Hindi or English, except for the test of General English
  • Candidates will be given 190 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Subjects of the SBI Clerk mains exam – General English, General/Finance Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude,  Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude
  • General English will carry 40 questions while General/Finance Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude,  Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude carries 50 marks.
  • The total marks for the exam are 200
  • There will negative marking of 1/4th marks.

SBI Clerk Admit Card 2019

State Bank of India will release the admit card of SBI Clerk 2019 for prelims and mains separately. Candidates can check their SBI Clerk admit card by entering registration number and password/date of birth in the login window. Before downloading, candidates must check that all details mentioned on the admit card. In case, any discrepancies, candidates must immediately contact the officials for necessary rectification. Only those candidates who have registered successfully can download SBI Clerk admit card 2019. The SBI Clerk admit card carries exam centre address, exam date and time, name and roll number of the candidate, exam day instructions etc. No hard copy of the SBI Clerk admit card for prelims and mains examination will be sent through the post.

SBI Clerk Result 2019

SBI Clerk result is declared in two phases – Prelims and Mains. The result for SBI Clerk 2019 will be available in online mode. SBI announces first the result of preliminary examination followed by mains exam. Candidates must note that marks scored in prelims exam will not be considered for final selection. Only the marks obtained in mains exam will be considered for final merit list and provisional allotment of candidates. Candidates who qualify for selection and produce class 10 and 12 marks sheet/certificate that they studied the specified opted local language will not be subjected to any language test. While who are unable to produce the certificate that they have studied the opted local language in class 10 and 12 have to appear for a language test. Candidates who are not found to be proficient in specified opted local language would be disqualified from the selection process. 

SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam

The State Bank of India will declare the SBI Clerk 2019 result for preliminary in July. The result of SBI Clerk 2019 prelims will be available in pdf format. Candidates can download their scorecard after two to three days of the result declaration.

SBI Clerk Mains Exam

The result of SBI Clerk 2019 will be declared in the month of August. On the basis of SBI Clerk 2019 mains exam, candidates will be shortlisted for provisional allotment. Only those candidates who will score equal to or more than the category-wise and state-wise cutoff will be selected for language test and provisional allotment. 

SBI Clerk Cutoff 

Only those candidates will be declared qualified who secures equal to or more than the category-wise SBI Clerk cut off marks in the written exam. The SBI Clerk 2019 cutoff score decided by the authority will be based on the number of vacancies, difficulty level of the exam and candidates appearing for the respective posts.

SBI Clerk 2019 Selection Process

SBI Clerk section process includes mainly three stages:

SBI Clerk 2019 Preliminary Exam – SBI Clerk prelims exam is conducted for those candidates who successfully register for the exam. Candidates have to download SBI Clerk admit card to appear in the examination. Candidates must note that marks obtained in the prelims exam will not be added while preparation of the final merit list. Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the SBI Clerk Mains exam.

SBI Clerk 2019 Mains Exam – The mains examination will be conducted only for those candidates who will qualify the prelims examination. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by the exam conducting authority to get shortlisted for final merit list. Candidates qualified in the mains exam will be placed in the merit list as per their state and category.

Local Language Test –  It will be conducted for only for those candidates who have not studied the opted local language in class 10 and 12.  However, candidates who have studied the opted local language in class 10 and 12 are exempted from the language test. Candidates who are not found to be proficient in specified opted local language will be disqualified from the selection process. 

Final SBI Clerk selection process of the candidates will be based on fulfilling the eligibility requirement and qualifying the mains and language test. 

Documents Required at Counselling

  • Date of Birth Certificate or high school mark sheet with date of birth
  • Original SBI PO score card along with two xerox copies
  • Mark Sheet/Certificate of Class 10 and 12 examination
  • Certificate regarding degree/post-graduate/other examinations passed
  • Passport size photographs and one should attached to interview call letter
  • Character certificate
  • SC/ST/OBC categories must bring the Caste/Community certificate issued by the Competent Authority
  • Medical Certificate for physically challenged candidates
  • Discharge certificate in applied under Ex-Servicemen
  • Aadhaar Card/Passport/Pan Card/Voter Id Card /Driving License /any other photo id card issued by the statutory authorities with affixed photograph
