The exam pattern of RRB NTPC 2020 has prescribed two stages Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Skill Test. RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2020 - Stage 1 Computer Based Test (CBT)

The exam paper will be of objective type with multiple choice questions. RRB NTPC stage 1 exam includes the following sections:

  • This section-wise syllabus distribution is only indicative and there may be some variations in the actual question papers.

  • One mark is allotted for every correct response.

  • There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.

The first stage CBT is a screening test. The level of questions for the CBT is equivalent to the educational standards specified for the posts. The marks will be normalized and this normalized score will be used for shortlisting the candidates for Second Stage CBT.

RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Pattern - Stage 2 Computer Based Test (CBT)

The Stage 2 CBT will be different for each of the 7th CPC Level i.e. Level 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will have separate Stage 2 CBT with graded difficulty level. However, all posts within the same level of 7th CPC will have the same Stage 2 CBT. The candidates may be eligible for more than one level of 7th CPC posts as per their educational qualifications. In such cases, they have to give the common Stage 1 CBT and the respective Stage 2 CBT for each level of 7th CPC. The candidates are shortlisted for the Stage 2 CBT based on:

  • The normalized marks obtained by them in Stage 1 CBT

  • Their preference for various posts as per the educational qualification of the candidate i.e. 10+2 or Graduate

Total number of candidates to be shortlisted = 20 times the vacancies of posts

The number of candidates shortlisted will depend on their category, merit and choice of posts. The Railways can increase/decrease this limit as per their requirements.

RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Stage 3: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

The RRB NTPC 2020 exam pattern has prescribed CBAT only for those candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master.

Qualifying marks: The candidates need to obtain a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify the Stage 3.

Important Note:

  • No relaxation is permissible in the minimum T- Score. This is applicable to all communities or categories i.e. every candidate irrespective of their category SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Ex SM must score a T-score of 42 marks.

Total number of candidates shortlisted for CBAT = 8 times the number of vacancies*

  • *Vacancies of Station Master (SM) / Traffic Assistant (TA) for each of the communities i.e. UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM)
  • This shortlisting will be based on performance of candidates in Stage 2 CBT from among the candidates who have opted for the post of SM/TA.
  • Such shortlisted candidates must produce the Vision Certificate otherwise they will not be allowed to appear in the CBAT.
  • Aspirants will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.

Exam Pattern of RRB NTPC 2020 - Stage 3 Marking Scheme

  • The CBAT will have questions and answer options in English and Hindi medium only.

  • There will be no negative marking in CBAT.

  • The SM/TA merit list will be prepared for those aspirants who qualify in the CBAT and 70% weightage will be given for the marks obtained in the Stage 2 CBT and 30% weightage for the marks secured in CBAT.

RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Stage 3: Typing Skill Test (TST)

Typing Skill Test (TST) is of qualifying nature. The marks are not added for making merit list. Typing test is conducted for following posts:

  • Senior Clerk cum Typist

  • Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist

  • Senior Time Keeper

  • Junior Clerk cum Typist

  • Accounts Clerk cum Typist

  • Junior Time Keeper

Number of candidates shortlisted for Typing Skill Test = 8 times the number of vacancies

Details of Typing test:

  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) for English or 25 WPM for Hindi on Personal Computer only.

  • No use of editing tools and spell check facility is allowed.

Note: Exemption in Typing Skill Test for aspirants who are permanently disabled due to Cerebral Palsy, Blindness/Low Vision, & Loco Motor Disability with not less than 40% permanent disability. For such candidates, the merit will be drawn only based on performance in Stage 2 CBT.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2020 - Stage 4 Document Verification/Medical

The candidates who qualify Stage 2 CBT and CBAT/TST (as applicable) are called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.

The number of candidates called for DV will be equal to the number of vacancies. In addition, 50% more candidates will also be invited for document verification to cover up any shortfall if the recommended candidates cannot join for any reason. In case two or more candidates obtain the same marks, to break the tie, older people are placed at higher merit. In case age is also the same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name shall be taken into account. Selected candidates are required to undergo Medical Fitness Test and appointment of aspirants is finalized after final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. Then the RRBs will recommend the names of the selected candidates and appointments will be offered by the respective Railway Administrations.

Both Stage 1 CBT and Stage 2 CBT have the same sections. However, it is expected that the difficulty level will be relatively higher in CBT Stage 2. The syllabus of RRB NTPC 2020 for below given sections will include:

hi sir.I applied for rrb ntpc 2019.In notification it was mentioned that obc certificate must not be older than one year at time of DV.if i get obc certificate beyond the crucial date,Is this certificate valid at the time of document verification??

Suppose that the document verification is scheduled on May 29, 2020 then your category submit must have been issued i between May 29, 2019- May 29, 2020.If it is issued earlier than May 29, 2019 then your category certificate will not be valid for the document verification hence your candidature may get cancelled.

NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), is the national level entrance exam conducted every year by one of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) for taking admissions on merit basis to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme.

This exam works across the NITs located in Agartala, Allahabad, Kurukshetra, Calicut, Raipur, Warangal, Surathkal, Durgapur, Trichy, Jamshedpur, Bhopal and Kurukshetra.

The application form of NIMCET 2020 will be released soon through which the candidates can fill the form and appear in the entrance exam. NIMCET admit card will also be released to be downloaded by candidates. The exam will be conducted in offline mode and the result of the same will be declared on the official website of NIMCET 2020.

Total 809 seats are available and duration of exam is 2 hours.

NOTE:- NIMCET scores are used by many other universities and institutes for admissions to the MCA programmes offered by them.

The eligibility criteria to become TTR is you must have passed 10th with minimum 50 % marks from recognized board. Candidate who have either passed 12th or have diploma can also apply.

Selection process involves written test and interview, the syllabus includes

  • Aptitude
  • General knowledge
  • General English and
  • Logical and analytical reasoning

The Railway Minister and also the spokesperson of the Ministry of Railways have given out a statement last week stating that it would recruit 2.3 lakh employees over the next 2 years in two phases.

According to official statistics, In 2018, the second biggest employer in Indian Economy initiated recruitment for 1,51,548 posts and hence left 1,31,428 posts vacant.

Also, the Railways said that 53,000 and 46,000 employees would retire during the next 2 years thereby causing an additional vacancy of 99,000 employees which is probably what you are asking about. This is a part of fresh recruitment in the Railways as a part of some ambitious programs from the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.
