NDA 2 Eligibility Criteria 2025 - Union Public Service Commission released the UPSC NDA 2 eligibility criteria 2025 in the official notification. The notification containing the NDA 2 2025 eligibility criteria is released on the official website. The notification is released at upsc.gov.in. UPSC NDA eligibility criteria 2025 is determined on the basis of different factors like age, nationality, academic qualification, and physical standard.
Female candidates are also eligible to apply for the NDA exam. As per the NDA Eligibility criteria, candidates between the age group of 16.5 to 19.5 years and the 12th pass students are eligible for the exam. As per the UPSC NDA notification 2025, an applicant who is an Indian citizen can apply for the NDA exam 2025. They should fulfil any of the NDA eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Commission below.

People of Indian origin migrated from Zaire, Ethiopia, East African Countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Uganda, Burma, Pakistan, Zambia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam to settle in India or

The Union Public Service Commission mentions the age limit in the official NDA notification 2025. As per the UPSC NDA 2025 eligibility criteria, applicants between July 2, 2006, to July 1, 2009, can apply online for the National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) exam. Note: There is no age relaxation provided to reserved category applicants for the NDA & NA examinations as per the rules set by the Union Public Service Commission. Also, the NDA age limit for girls and for boys are the same.
UPSC Board also mentions the educational qualifications which are needed to apply for the UPSC NDA 2025 exam. To be eligible to appear in the NDA 2025 exam, candidates should have passed the 12th class from a recognized board.

Candidates who want to appear for the UPSC NDA 1 and NDA 2 2025 exam must be unmarried and must remain unmarried until the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy training is completed. If the candidate marries in between the UPSC NDA training he will be removed from the Academy.
Those clearing the NDA & NA 2025 SSB interview round will be called for the NDA physical fitness or medical test round. In this stage, the physical and mental state of the candidate will be tested by the authorities. If they fail to meet the prescribed medical standards, they will be disqualified. The conducting authority opened the NDA 1 application form 2025 online on May 28, 2025. The NDA form 2025 is released on the official website - upsc.gov.in/upsconline.nic.in. Being 6/18 in both eyes, you may be able to take the job based on the recruitment medical standards of the recruiting authority particularly, the jobs in the defence services or the government sector.
Most medical standards have certain amounts of uncorrected deficiencies in vision when vision corrected (glasses, contacts) is of the expected standard. The specific allowance depends upon a service and a post.
When the notification explains uncorrected vision allowance, then it probably means that everyone whose vision is worse than normal, but can be corrected to meet the specified requirement, can be afforded.
In order to be sure:
Ensure to read the accuracy of vision standards and allowance as stated in the official notification.
Upon permission, make sure that you attain a legal eye prescription displaying corrected eyesight within a limit.
In case of doubts, a certified medical officer or ophthalmologist is to be consulted to provide a report on eye examination.

The NDA exam conducted by UPSC has strict age eligibility criteria. For the NDA II 2025 exam, which is scheduled to be held in September 2025, only candidates born between January 2, 2007, and January 1, 2010 (both dates inclusive) are considered eligible. Since your son was born on November 1, 2006, he unfortunately does not fall within this age range, making him ineligible for the NDA II 2025 exam as per the current guidelines.
