SBI PO Exam Pattern 2018 – State Bank of India has released the exam pattern of SBI PO 2018 along with its official notification. SBI PO exam pattern carries important information about the exam like marking scheme, total number of questions, time allotted to complete the test, mode of the exam, sections of the test, etc. While they are preparing for the test, it’s important that candidates go through the exam pattern of SBI PO so as to know the different sections and the marking scheme. This way candidates can prepare better for the exam. Eligible candidates are required to appear in the online preliminary exam. The candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam will be called for appearing in online mains exam.
Candidates qualifying in the mains exam, are further called for the final round which is a group discussion & personal interview round. Candidates, who make through the group discussion & personal interview round, are indicted by the SBI in its PO cadre at its branches across the country. SBI PO 2018 Mains Exam Pattern
SBI PO Mains 2018 examination will consist of Objective Test for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The mode of both the examinations will be online. Selected candidates will have to answer the descriptive test by typing on the computer allotted to them at the exam venue. The descriptive test will start immediately after completion of the objective test.
The online mains exam (Objective Test) will be held for 3 hours wherein candidates have to answer questions from 4 sections - Reasoning & Computer aptitude, Data analysis and interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, for 200 marks.
There will be negative marking for every wrong answer marked by the candidate in the objective test. One-fourth of the marks assigned will be deducted as penalty if any wrong answer has been given by the candidate. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
A Descriptive Test for 30 minutes with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
Selection process for SBI PO 2018 Group Exercise and Interview:
The merit list for the SBI PO 2018 will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the main examination categorically. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise and Interview from the top of the merit list, given that these candidates secure the minimum qualifying score in aggregate.
Group Exercise (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
Those candidates who qualify the SBI PO 2018 main examination will further have to appear in a Group Exercise and Interview which will hold 20 and 30 marks respectively.
Candidates marks in SBI PO preliminary exam will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks scored by the candidates in SBI PO main examination 2018 (objective and descriptive) will be added to the marks secured in Group Discussion and Interview. The candidates are expected to qualify in both SB PO Mains exam and Group Exercise and Interview separately.
The marks scored by the candidates in the SBI PO main examination 2018 (out of 250) will be converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercise and Interview (out of 50) will be converted to out of 25. SBI will release the final merit list after aggregating the converted marks of the SBI PO main exam 2018, SBI PO GD and Interview 2018 out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. Results of the candidates who qualify for Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview as well as the final select list will be made available online.
