NDA Cut off 2018 – The cut off of NDA 2 refers to the minimum qualifying marks required to qualify the written exam and become eligible for next round of selection process i.e SSB Interview. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announces NDA cut off for written and final selection after completion of selection process. NDA 2 cut off is likely to be released in May 2019. NDA cut off is applied for written and SSB Interview. NDA cut off of written exam is determined out of 900 marks. Candidates who will secure the required cut off in written exam will be shortlisted for SSB Interview.

 

SSB Interview is conducted for 900 marks, candidates will have to score the minimum qualifying marks to qualify this stage. After completion of SSB Interview, UPSC prepares All India Merit list of candidates who score NDA cut off at both the stages of exam -written and SSB Interview. The final cut off of NDA is calculated based on written exam and SSB Interview out of 1800 marks (900 marks of written exam and 900 marks of SSB). Candidates will be offered admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy courses based on their rank in the merit list. As per previous years’ cut off analysis, there is also sectional cut off in written exam. To qualify each section of exam, candidates need to secure at least 25 %. However, the sectional cut off vary every year. NDA 2 2018 was conducted on September 9. This article brings to you previous years’ NDA cut off.

Important Dates of NDA Cut off 2018

 

NDA 1 cut off will be released by UPSC in November, 2018. The exam of which was conducted on April 22, 2018. SSB Interview will be held from August to September, 2018. NDA 2 cut off 2018 will be announced in May, 2019. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 9, 2018. The SSB Interview will be held from January to April, 2019. The dates related to the availability of NDA cut off 2018 is mentioned below.

What is NDA Cut off 2018?

 

Cut off is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure at written exam and SSB Interview to be selected for admission into Navy, Army and Air Force wings of NDA & NA. Candidates have to secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in written exam and SSB interview.


Types of NDA Cut off

 

NDA Sectional cut off - The sectional cutoff is the minimum qualifying percentage that candidates have to score in each section. According to sectional cutoff, candidates have to secure the qualifying percentage in each subject – Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The sectional cutoff differs year-wise for NDA 1 and 2. In 2017, the sectional cutoff for NDA 1 and 2 was 25%. In 2016, the qualifying percentage for each subject in NDA 2 was 20 while it was 25 for NDA 1.

 

NDA Overall Cut off - The overall cut off for NDA 1 and 2 is calculated out of the total marks. It is the total marks that candidates have to secure at written and SSB Interview stage to be selected for admission. Only those candidates who secures the overall cut off are declared qualified.

 

Factors determining NDA Cut off 2018

 

The cutoff is decided based on the following factors.

  • Number of candidates appeared for the exam

  • Total number of vacancies

  • Difficulty level of exam 

Stages of NDA Cut off 2018

 

NDA cut off for Written Exam: The cutoff for written exam is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure to qualify for SSB Interview. The examination authority, UPSC decides NDA cutoff for written exam out of 900 marks.

 

NDA cut off for SSB Interview: Candidates have to secure minimum qualifying marks in Interview fixed by the SSB to be considered for the merit list. The SSB Interview is conducted for 900 marks.

 

NDA Cut off for Selection: The final NDA cutoff is the marks secured by the last recommended candidates. The cutoff is decided out of 1800 marks, 900 marks of written exam and 900 marks of SSB Interview. Merit list is prepared based on the marks secured by candidates in written exam and SSB Tests as well as the cutoff. Final allocation to Army, Navy and Air Force of NDA and 10+2 cadet Entry Scheme of NA will be done as per vacancies, medical fitness, merit and preferences.

 

NDA Cut off Analysis

 

As per NDA cut off analysis, in 2017 the cut off for NDA 1 written exam increased compared to 2016. NDA 1 cut off 2017 for written exam was 342 while it was 288 in 2016. Similarly, the final cutoff in 2017 was high compared to 2016. The final NDA 1 cut off was 708 while it was 656 in 2016. NDA 1 cut off for written stage in 2015 was 306. In 2015, the final cut off was 674. In 2017, NDA 2 cut off for written exam was 258 which was more compared to 2016. NDA 2 cut off 2016 for written exam was 299. The final NDA 2 cut off 2017 was 624 while it was 602 in 2016. The final cut off increased in 2017 compared to 2016. NDA cut off of last three years is provided in the table below

NDA Result 2018


NDA 1 result for written exam declared by UPSC in June 15, 2018. The roll numbers of candidates shortlisted for SSB Interview will be made available in PDF format. On the basis of their scores in written exam, candidates will be shortlisted for SSB Interview. The final NDA result is declared based on the marks secured by candidates in written and SSB Interview. The final NDA 1 result will be declared in November. NDA 2 result for written exam will be declared in November. The final result is likely to be declared in May, 2019.
