SSC CGL Result 2018 – The result of SSC CGL Tier 1 will be declared online by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in October for candidates appearing in the exam. The names, roll numbers and categories of qualified candidates will be made available in PDF file. Based on SSC CGL 2018 result of Tier 1, candidates will be selected for Tier 2. SSC CGL result will be calculated out of 200 marks after applying penalty for wrong answers. Candidates need to secure SSC CGL cutoff in Tier 1 as per their category to qualify the exam. SSC will release the marks of qualified and non-qualified candidates few days after the declaration of SSC CGL result. SSC CGL 2018 Tier 1 exam delayed. Exam dates will be released soon by Staff Selection Commission. In 2017, total 226299 candidates were selected for Tier 2 exam.

SSC CGL result is declared in three stages – Tier 1, 2 and final. CGL result for Tier 2 will be announced in June, 2019. The exam of which is scheduled to be conducted from November 27 to 30, 2018. The final SSC CGL 2018 result will be declared after the conduct of Tier 3 and 4. All merit list will be prepared based on the overall performance of candidates in Tier 1, 2 and 3. Candidates whose roll numbers and names feature in the merit list of SSC CGL will be offered appointment as per their preferences of posts. SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2018

SSC CGL result 2018 for Tier 1 exam is declared for those candidates who scores the cutoff as per their category. SSC CGL cutoff will be released by the exam conducting authority. On the basis of SSC CGL 2018 result for Tier 1 exam, candidates will be selected for Tier 2 exam. Candidates have to qualify in all the subjects - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. The total marks of candidates will be calculated out of 200. On the basis of SSC CGL Tier 1 marks, candidates will be shortlisted category-wise to appear in Tier 2. As the Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL will be conducted in multiple shifts, the marks of candidates will be normalised to adjust the difficulty level of exam. SSC CGL Tier 1 result 2018 will be declared based on the normalised marks.

How to calculate SSC CGL Tier 1 score 2018?

The following procedure is adopted to calculate the marks of candidates. 

  • Step 1: 2 X number of correct answers
  • Step 2:0.50 mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer from the total score

  • Step 3: Marks to be calculated out of 200 total marks

SSC CGL Tier 2 Result 2018

SSC CGL Tier 2 comprises four papers. The Paper 1 is of Quantitative Abilities while Paper 2 is English Language and Comprehension. Paper III and IV is Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics) respectively. Paper 1 and 2 is common for all posts. Paper III is for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer posts. Marks obtained by candidates will be normalised to declare SSC CGL result 2018 of Tier 2. SSC CGL Tier 2 result will be declared based on candidates performance in Tier 1 and 2. Marks obtained in Tier 1 and 2 and cutoff will be considered for deciding the eligibility of candidates to appear in Tier 3. A merit list will be prepared to call candidates for Tier 3 exam.

How SSC CGL Tier 2 result 2018 will be calculated?

  • For each correct answer in Paper 1, 3 and 4, candidates will get 2 marks.

  • Candidates for correct answer in Paper 2 will score 1 marks.

  • For each wrong answer in all the papers, 0.50 marks will be deducted from the total score.

SSC CGL 2018 Tier 3 and 4

The Tier 3 is a descriptive test conducted in Pen and Paper mode. SSC CGL Tier 3 is likely to be conducted in July 2019. However, SSC has not announced the Tier 3 exam dates. Candidates score in Tier 3 will be calculated out of 100 marks. Those who score minimum qualifying marks in Tier 3 will be eligible to appear in Skill Tests. The Tier 3 assess candidates writing skills which is necessary for government job. Based on the aggregate performance in Tier 1, 2 and 3, candidates will be shortlisted for Skill tests and Document Verification.

SSC CGL 2018 Tier 4 is Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Skill Test (DEST). The Skill tests are qualifying in nature. If a candidate does not appear in Skill Test or fails to qualify then they will not be eligible for posts where CPT and DEST are required.

SSC CGL Final Result 2018/ Merit List

  • The final result of SSC CGL/merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates in Tier 1, 2 and 3.

  • Final selection of candidates in each category is done on the basis of their performance in three tiers and preference of posts.

  • SC, ST, OBC, ExS and PwD candidates selected on their merit without relaxed standards will not be adjusted against the reserved vacancies.

  • These candidates will be accommodated against the general vacancies as per their position in the overall merit list.

  • The reserved vacancies are filled amongst the eligible candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, ExS and PwD categories.

  • SC, ST, OBC, ExS and PwD candidates qualifying on the basis of relaxed standards like age limit, experience or qualifications, permitted number of chances, extended zone of consideration, etc. irrespective of their merit will be counted against the reserved vacancies and not un-reserved.

  • These candidates can be recommended at the relaxed standards as per the number of vacancies available for them inorder to fill the deficiency in the reserved quota irrespective of their rank in merit list.

SSC CGL 2018 Resolution of Ties

In case of tie in scores of candidates in Tier 1, 2 and 3, merit will be determined after resolving the same in the following method.

  • Total marks of Tier 2 exam

  • Total marks in Tier 3 exam

  • Total marks in Tier 1 exam

  • Date of birth, with older candidate placed higher

  • Alphabetical order in which first names of candidates appear

What is SSC CGL Normalisation Procedure?

SSC CGL 2018 exam will be conducted in multiple shifts. Therefore, different test forms will be given to candidates. To ensure fairness and equity in comparison of candidates performance across different shifts, the scores are normalised.

SSC CGL 2018 Marks

SSC will release the marks of both qualified and non-qualified candidates few days after the declaration of result. Candidates can check their marks by entering examination name, roll/registration number and password. However, the marks will also be made available region-wise in PDF format. SSC CGL Cutoff 2018

The cutoff of SSC CGL is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure to qualify each stage of recruitment process and become eligible for next round. SSC CGL cutoff 2018 will be declared along with the result. The cutoff is applied for all the four tiers of exam. Candidates securing the overall SSC CGL cutoff marks in Tier 1 as per their category are selected for Tier 2. SSC decides separate cutoff for Paper 3 and 4 and Paper 1 and 2. SSC CGL cutoff 2018 for Tier 2 is decided based Tier 1 and 2. Candidates securing SSC CGL cutoff in Tier 2 will be eligible to appear in Tier 3. The commission will fix separate cutoff for Tier 3.
