Agneepath Scheme 2025 - Indian Air Force has released the Agniveervayu notification 2025 on the official website, agnipathvvayu.cdac.in. The Agniveervayu notification has been released for the Agniveervayu intake 2026. As per the notification, the Agniveervayu application form 2025 will be released on January 7, 2025. The last date to submit the Agniveervayu 2025 application form is January 27, 2025. IAF is going to conduct the Agniveervayu 2025 exam from March 22, 2025 onwards.

A new scheme of short-term reinstatement in the Indian Army has been started by the Government of India, namely the Agneepath scheme. Through the Agneepath scheme, the 10th and 12th pass students will get a chance to serve as a professional soldier for 4 years as Agniveervayu in the three wings of the Indian Defence forces- Army, Airforce, and Navy.

To support this “Agneepath scheme", the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of HRD, Government Of India through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is instituting a special program to enable 10th and 12th class pass candidates to get a certificate which will be recognised for employment & higher education. The Department of Military Affairs said that Agniveervayu will be eligible for gallantry awards.

Agneepath Scheme 2025 - Recruitment Process

For the Agneepath scheme recruitment, the old army method will be followed.

  • For this, along with the physical test, the students will also have to go through the written test.

  • Under the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme, youth will get an opportunity to work full-time in the Armed Services Force for a total of 4 years including a training period, for which recruitment will be done as per the rules set by the army.

  • The special thing is that not only men, but women can also apply under this scheme. Through this scheme, the youth will be able to get reinstated in the three major parts of the army i.e. Army, Air Force and Navy.

According to the Agneepath eligibility criteria, the minimum age of the youth applying for this Agniveervayu scheme has been fixed as 17 years 5 months and the maximum age is 20 years.

Agneepath Scheme recruitment process - Special features

  • The age of the youth should be between 17.5 to 20 years.

  • The old army method will be followed for recruitment. A written test will be conducted along with a physical test.

  • There will be an opportunity to serve full-time in the Armed Services Force for a total of 4 years including a training period (6 months).

  • Both males and females can apply for the Agnipath scheme.

  • Recruitment will be done for the three wings of the army under the Agnipath scheme.

Agneepath Scheme 2025: How much will be the annual income?

Agniveers will be offered an attractive customized monthly package with risk and hardship allowances across three services. On completion of the service period of four years, the Agniveervayu will be paid a lump sum 'Seva Nidhi' package. The service fund amount will be exempted from income tax.

Under the Agneepath scheme, in the first year, youth will get Rs 30,000 per month, out of which about Rs 9000 will be deducted from their monthly income and deposited in their savings account. After this, the army will also add the same part to their savings. With the increase in salary every year, the amount deposited in the savings account will also increase. Also, after 4 years when these candidates leave the army, then they will be given around 10.04 Lakh as service funds.

Apart from this, a special certificate will also be given by the army to such youth, due to which they will be able to get jobs in various posts. The special thing is that, a non-contributory life insurance of Rs 48 lakh will also be given to the Agniveers.

Agneepath Scheme 2025: Compensation in case of death

Under the Agneepath scheme, a non-contributory life insurance of Rs 48 lakh will be given to the candidates joining the army. On the other hand, if someone dies during the service, then a grant of 44 lakhs will be given to the family. Apart from these 44 lakh rupees, the government will also pay for the unserved tenure of such martyrs for 4 years and the pension received by the soldiers recruited through other Agneepath schemes will also be given to the family of the martyr.

On the other hand, if a soldier becomes disabled during service, then he will be given compensation based on the percentage of his disability. The amount of compensation is given in the table below-

Agneepath Yojana: What will be available in allowance?

Under the Agnipath scheme, along with basic pay, allowances will also be given to the youth. Risk and hardship, ration, dress and travel allowance are the major allowances among these. Apart from this, the money received under the service fund has been made 'tax-free', which will further strengthen the economic condition of the youth. However, Agniveervayu will not get gratuity and pension benefits.

Agnipath Scheme 2025 - What's next after the service

After completion of 4 years around Rs. 10.04 Lakhs as service funds will be given to the candidates. Apart from this, a special certificate will also be given to the candidates by the army. The certificate holder is to be given priority in the recruitment of CAPFs and Assam Rifles. Also priority in State govt jobs and state police force.

About Agnipath Scheme 2025

Agnipath scheme is an ambitious scheme brought by the Government of India for the reinstatement of the army for 4 years, on which the government will take action within 90 days. Through the Agnipath recruitment scheme, there is a plan to make the Indian forces more young and skilled in new technologies. With the help of this scheme, the government will help in reducing the average age of the army from 32 years to 26 years, which will not only infuse youth power in the armed forces, rather, many students will also get jobs.

Keeping in view the need for merit and organization in the future, up to 25 percent of Agniveervayu soldiers will be retained even after 4 years of service in the army. At the same time, after four years of service, the remaining 75 percent of the youth will be given a lump sum amount and a certificate of technical qualification from the government, which will help them get jobs according to their ability in different sectors in future. Along with this, all the candidates can apply as volunteers for recruitment in regular cadre.
