IBPS Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has determined the IBPS 2020 eligibility criteria for all those candidates who wish to appear for Clerk, Probationary Officers (PO), Specialist Officers (SO), and for various RRBs (Rural Recruitment Banks). The eligibility criteria of IBPS 2020 is determined on the basis of age and education qualification of the candidates. Candidates can appear for any of the IBPS exams only after meeting the eligibility and filling the application form. To appear in any of the IBPS exams, candidates must be a graduate. However, the age limit for appearing in IBPS exams are as per the post applied. There are certain age relaxation also in IBPS eligibility criteria by the authorities for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. IBPS Eligibility Criteria - Age Relaxations

The authorities have given certain age relaxations to the candidates belonging to the reserved categories. The table below contains the age relaxations for each categories:

IBPS Eligibility Criteria 2020 On the basis of Education Qualification

Candidates applying for any exam of IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, or IBPS RRB, candidates must meet the eligibility on the basis of education qualifications as well.

Education Qualification For IBPS Clerk, and IBPS PO is as follow:

  • Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.

  • Knowledge of Computer - Must have knowledge of operating and working computers.

IBPS Eligibility Criteria - Education Qualification For IBPS RRB

The requirements on the basis of education standards are different for each post. The IBPS eligibility criteria for RRB on the basis of education qualifications are as follows:

For the post of Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)

  • Graduation

  • Preferences will be given to candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy

  • Proficiency in local language

  • Knowledge of computer (desirable qualification)

For the post of Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks.

  • Degrees in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Science, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy (Prefered qualification)..

For the post of Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager)

1) IT Officers

  • Graduation in Electronics /Communication /Computer Science / Information Technology with minimum of 50% in aggregate

  • Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc (Desirable)

2) Chartered Accountant - Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India

3) Law Officer - Degree in Law with at least 50% marks.

4) Treasury Manager - Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/institution.

5) Marketing Officer - MBA in Marketing from a recognized university

6) Agricultural Officer - Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/Animal Husbandry/Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with at least 50% marks.

For the post of Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks

  • Preference will be given to those who holds a Degree/Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy

For the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline

  • Proficiency in local language prescribed by RRBs

  • Computer knowledge

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Can I apply for multiple posts available in IBPS RRB exam?

Yes, you will be able to apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer. You will have to fill a separate application form in that case. You must make sure to have met all the eligibility criteria of IBPS RRB.

2. I have appeared for IBPS Clerk test thrice. Will I be able to take the test this year or is there any limit in attempts?

No, there is no limit in the number of attempts in IBPS Clerk exam and thus you will be able to appear for the test.

3. Is there any minimum percentage required in graduation to be eligible to appear in the exam?

No, you just need to be a graduate irrespective of the marks secured in the graduation.

4. I am in the final year of graduation. Can I apply for the IBPS PO 2020 exam?

Yes, you can definitely apply for the exam if you are an appearing candidate provided your final result of graduation must be released on or before August 28, 2020.
