ESIC Result 2018 - Employees’ State Insurance Corporation of India (ESIC) has declared the result of ESIC 2018 for mains exam on December 28. ESIC mains exam 2018 was held on December 15. ESIC result 2018 mains has been released online where qualified candidates can find their roll numbers in a PDF file. Along with the ESIC mains exam result 2018, the cut off has also been released. Shortlisted candidates in mains exam have to take Computer Skill Test & Descriptive Test on January 13. ESIC 2018 is being conducted in three phases - I, II, III to recruit around 539 Social Security Officer/Manager Gr-II/Superintendent in various branches of the country.

The authority had earlier released the preliminary exam (phase I) result on November 16, 2018. The examination authority also released ESIC scorecard 2018 prelims exam on November 22. The scorecard of ESIC 2018 was available in PDF format for all the candidates irrespective of the qualifying status. The result PDF contained the roll numbers of only the qualified candidates while the scorecard contained the registration number, roll numbers and subject wise marks scored by all. Candidates must note that the marks secured in phase I exam will not be calculated while preparing the final merit. A total of 6202 candidates had qualified for the mains examination. 

Along with the declaration of ESIC result 2018, the examination authority had also declared the category wise cut off marks. The cut off for the UR category recorded the highest qualifying marks which are 71.00 while the cut off for PWD category B registered the lowest - 30 marks out of 100 marks.

ESIC Cutoff 2018

The cutoff of ESIC for mains exam has been released by the authority on December 28, 2018. Earlier, the cut off for prelims examination was released along with the result on November 16. The cutoff was released as sectional and overall marks. The examination authority decides the ESIC cutoff score, based on the number of vacancies, the number of candidates appeared and difficulty level in the online examination. Candidates have to secure more than or equal to the sectional and overall cutoff to qualify in each stage of the recruitment exam. ESIC Result 2018 – Phases

ESIC result is declared for three phases - prelims, mains and CST & descriptive test. Check the details below:

ESIC Preliminary Result 2018 – The result of ESIC for prelims examination was declared for candidates who had appeared in the ESIC 2018 exam. As per the ESIC notification, candidates approximately 10 times the number of vacancies are selected for appearing in the mains exam. However, the examination authority had shortlisted 812 more candidates than the 10 times value. The preliminary exam is of qualifying in nature and will not be considered for calculation of final merit list.

ESIC Mains Result 2018 – ESIC has announced the mains result of ESIC in online mode for those candidates who have appeared in the mains examination. The marks obtained in ESIC mains exam are considered for final selection. As per the ESIC officials, candidates, approximately 5 times (1:5 ratio) the number of vacancies in each category will be considered for Phase -III i.e. Computer Skill Test & Descriptive Test.

ESIC Computer Skill Test (CST) & Descriptive Test Result 2018 – Shortlisted candidates in mains exam are considered eligible for CST & Descriptive Test provided they secure the minimum cutoff marks. Candidates have to appear in the descriptive test as well as CST. This test is only qualifying in nature and does not count while preparing the ranks of the candidates. CST and Descriptive Test is scheduled to be conducted on January 13, 2019. Candidates must bring the following self attested documents on the day of the phase III test:

  • Birth certificate
  • Caste certificate (if required)
  • PWD certificate (if applicable)
  • Pass certificate of 10th/12th
  • Graduation certificate
  • One of the prescribed photo ID proofs


ESIC Result 2018 – Score calculation method

The scores of ESIC prelims/mains examination are calculated on the basis of the following procedure:

  • The total number of questions answered correctly by candidates in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying a penalty for wrong answers.

  • The authority uses the equi-percentile method for the tests held in multiple slots and sessions.
