While in category III, there are Junior Engineer (JE), (Civil Engineering/Electrical Mechanical Engineering), Assistant Grade 2 (AG II) (hindi), Steno Grade-II, Typist (Hindi) and Assistant Grade-III (AG III) (General/Accounts/Technical/Depot). To appear in the FCI recruitment, a candidate must be more than 18 years of age. The upper age limit for FCI recruitment depends on the applied post. Generally, the FCI recruitment exam is held in three stages - phase I, phase II and Interview round. Where FCI phase I will have one common paper of 100 marks questions for all candidates, the phase II exam of FCI Recruitment 2026 will be held for several papers depending upon the post applied for. Candidates securing FCI cut-off at each stage will be considered for final recruitment.

FCI Recruitment 2026 - Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the FCI 2026 recruitment, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria based on the age, category and education qualification for the applied post. The table below reflects the age limit for both Category II and III posts.

FCI Recruitment 2026 - Exam Pattern
FCI prescribes the FCI Recruitment 2026 exam pattern for all candidates to know the exam stages, sections, medium, mode, duration and marking scheme. As per FCI recruitment exam pattern, the test is held in two phases - phase I and II. Both the phases of the exam will be held in online mode. After the phase II exam, a skill test will be held for those candidates who will appear for the post of Steno Grade II and Typist (Hindi). Except for the test of English Language paper, all the other questions from other sections will be conducted bilingually (both Hindi and English). For each wrong answer, 1/4th marks will be deducted. FCI 2026 Vacancies - Phase II
After qualifying in the phase I exam, candidates will have to appear for different papers in phase II as per their posts. The exam will be held for five papers - paper I, II, III, IV and V wherein all the five will be held in online mode.
FCI 2026 Recruitment - Skill Test
After phase II test, candidates who choose Stenographer Grade II (Post Code C) will have to appear for a skill test in order to test the candidates on the basis of their typing and shorthand.
