CDS 2020 - Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) conducts Combined Defense Services (CDS) Examination twice a year for the recruitment of candidates who have the potential to transform into officers in different branches of Indian armed forces. The application forms of CDS 2020 has been released on the official website - upsc.gov.in on October 30, 2019, along with the official notification. CDS examination will be conducted on February 02, 2020 in offline mode at various centers across India. CDS 2020 will be conducted for a total of 418 vacancies.

As per the official notification, candidates should be between 20 to 24 years of age, having educational qualifications equivalent to graduation. Admit cards for CDS will be released in the online mode on the official website of UPSC a few days before the examination. The selection procedure of CDS 2020 includes a written examination followed by the SSB interview process and medical examination. The final merit list will be prepared as per the performance of the candidate in all phases of the selection. The final results of UPSC CDS 2020 will be released in a PDF format containing names and roll numbers of candidates selected for admission to the academy.

CDS Application Form 2020

The application form of CDS 2020 has been released on the official website of UPSC on October 30, 2019. Candidates can pay the application fee in both online and offline mode. The application form of CDS 2020 is available in two parts. Candidates first need to fill part 1 of the application form followed by part 2. The details that need to be mentioned in part 1 of registration are candidates' name, father’s name, Aadhaar card number, corresponding address and others. A scanned copy of photograph and signature are also needed to be uploaded in the application form as per the size prescribed by UPSC. Steps to fill the application forms of UPSC CDS 2020 are given below.

Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC @ www.upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the “apply online” tab and select CDS 01/2020.

Step 3: Click on registration part 1 and fill all necessary details in the required fields.

Step 4: Check all details and submit the form.

Step 5: Login with the registration id generated and DOB.

Step 6: Pay the application fee through debit card, credit card or internet banking.

Step 7: Upload photograph and signature scanned images.

Step 8: Check all details and submit the application form.

CDS Eligibility Criteria 2020

UPSC has released the eligibility criteria for CDS 2020 examination along with the official notification on the official website. The eligibility criteria of CDS 2020 consists of various components like nationality, educational qualification, age limit, marital status, and others. CDS Exam Pattern 2020

UPSC conducts CDS examination in offline mode across various centers. The examination pattern for CDS 2020 consists of various components like the number of questions, duration of the examination, marking scheme and others. Candidates are advised to go through the examination pattern clearly to get an idea about the examination. The subjects included in CDS examination are English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. However, candidates applying for OTA are exempted from mathematics paper. SSB Interview Process

Candidates who qualify the written examination of CDS 2020 will be called for SSB interview at various centers across India. The first day is called screening day which comprises of OIR test followed by the PPDT process. Candidates who will clear the screening test will be retained at the center for further stages. Recommended candidates will face a medical examination after which the final merit list of selected candidates will be published.

CDS Syllabus 2020

UPSC CDS written examination comprises of three subjects i.e English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. UPSC releases the syllabus for CDS examination along with the official notification. Candidates can check the syllabus for UPSC CDS 2020 from the table given below.

CDS Admit Card 2020

CDS admit cards will be released in online mode on the official website of UPSC. Candidates can download the admit card for CDS 2020 before 15 days of examination. The details mentioned on the admit card of CDS 2020 are registration number, roll number, examination timing, examination center, and others, Candidates needs to login into their account with the help of registration id or roll number to download the admit card. A hard copy of the admit card of CDS 2020 along with the valid Id proof issued by the government of India is needed to be carried on the day of examination. Steps to download the admit card of CDS 2020 is given below.

Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC.

Step 2: Click on the admit card tab and select CDS 2020.

Step 3: Choose option registration id or roll number.

Step 4: Enter roll number or application number with date of birth and submit the details.

Step 5: Check all details on the admit card and download it for future reference.

CDS Answer Key 2020

UPSC will release the answer key for CDS 2020 after the declaration of final results. However, candidates can download the answers key after a few hours of examination from different institutes websites. Candidates can check the answer key for estimating their CDS 2020 score. The answer key will be released individually for all subjects in PDF format.

CDS Cutoff 2020

UPSC will release the cutoffs for CDS 2020 after the completion of the final stage of the selection process. Candidates who will score marks equal to or more than the cutoff marks will be called for further stages of testing. Candidates who will clear the final cutoff will be issued call letters for training. Cutoffs for CDS 02/2018 are given below.

CDS Result 2020

UPSC will release the CDS 2020 results after the successful completion of the examination. The results will be released in PDF format on the official website containing the roll numbers of qualified candidates. However, the final results will be published after the completion of SSB and the medical stage of testing.

CDS 2020 - Pay Scale

UPSC release the pay scale for different ranks along with the official brochure of CDS. The grade pay of all the officers varies according to the rank. All officers are paid a Military Service Pay(MSP) during the entire service. During the time of training, cadets are also paid a stipend of 56,100/- p.m. A detailed salary breakdown for all the ranks is given below.

I would suggest you to buy a general knowledge book which is that will help you with the GK questions. And then you should buy a book of reasoning and aptitude pictures that will help you to improve your aptitude questions. Why you asking for a book then I would like to recommend you pathfinder CDS it is one of the best books you can and have for the preparation. While for afcat you can buy Aarihant's afcat book for preparation. I hope this was helpful to you.

yes you may apply in cds if you become eligible in education and age criteria.

age limit is 24 or 25 years old according to post wise. you may apply in Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (NA), Air Force Academy (AFA), Officers' Training Academy (OTA - Men), Officers Training Academy (OTA - Women, Non-Technical).

cds exam happens twice a year. the following age criteria is applicable to appear in cds exam:

For Indian Military Academy (IMA), unmarried candidates born not  before than January 2, 1997 and not later than January 1, 2002 can only apply.

For Indian Naval Academy (IMA), unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1997 and not later than January 1, 2002 are eligible.

for Air Force Academy candidate should be between 20 to 24 years as on January 1, 2021 (born not earlier than January 2, 1997 and not later than January 1, 2001).

For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for men), unmarried male candidates born not before than January 2, 1996 and not later than January 1, 2002 are eligible for the exam.

For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course), candidates should be unmarried and born not earlier than January 2, 1996 and not later than January 1, 2002.

so you are not eligible for any of the post as per age criteria.
