IFS Result 2019 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the result of Indian Forest Services (IFS) prelims exam conducted through the common Civil Services (prelims) examination. UPSC IFS result 2019 is declared on July 12, 2019. The result was released online in pdf format containing the roll numbers of candidates who have been selected for the next stage of the exam. Shortlisted candidates will need to appear for IFS 2019 Mains. After completion of the mains exam, UPSC will publish the list of candidates selected to appear for Personality Test. On the basis of the combined score in Mains and Personality Test, the commission will prepare the final result.
Based on the final IFS result 2019, candidates will be recruited as officers to forestry services of India for systematic management of forests in the country. The Commission prepares IFS 2019 result based on merit.

UPSC conducts the Indian Forest Service exam in three stages – Prelims, Mains and the final result. The different stages of the exam have been explained in details below.
UPSC conducted IFS prelims exam through UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam on June 2, 2019. The Commission released the Indian Forest Service Prelims Result on July 12,2019. On the basis of the result, candidates has shortlisted to appear for the IFS Mains examination.
The Mains exam of IFS is scheduled to be conducted on December 1, 2019. The exam will be held for ten days. The result of Mains exam should be released in February 2020. As per marks secured in IFS 2019 Mains, candidates will be called to appear in Personality Test/ Interview.
After Interview, UPSC will prepare the final result of the examination. The Commission will declare the final result on the basis of combined marks in Mains and Interview. Based on final IFS result, candidates will be selected for recruitment to various officers’ posts in forestry services of India.
Marks obtained in the prelims examination is not be considered for final merit list
In order to qualify for Mains, candidates must secure minimum 33% in General Studies Paper 2 of Prelims exam
The Commission will publish the list of qualified candidates based on marks secured in GS Paper 1 subject to qualifying GS Paper 2
The result of the Mains exam will be prepared based on aggregate marks scored in Mains Papers 1–7
On the basis of IFS Mains result, candidates will be shortlisted for Personality Test/Interview
Candidates invited for an interview will be twice the number of vacancies available
The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Mains exam and interview
Union Public Services Commission determines the cutoff for each stage of the exam. The cutoff of IFS is the minimum marks that candidates must score to qualify the exam and be selected for the next stage of the recruitment process. The exam will comprise two papers of 200 marks each. Objective type questions will be asked in the prelims exam. As per the marking scheme, one mark will be awarded to candidates for correct responses while 0.33 mark will be deducted for wrong answers.
