WBCS Exam Pattern 2019

WBCS Exam Pattern 2019 – West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has prescribed the exam pattern of WBCS to recruit candidates for the executive post under Group A. As per WBCS exam pattern 2019, the exam will be conducted in three stages – Prelims, Mains and personality test. WBCS Prelims which is scheduled to be conducted on February 9, 2019, will be a screening test which will contain one paper on General Studies. The exam comprises eight sections and is held for 200 marks. Candidates qualifying prelims will be called for Mains exam containing 8 papers of which 6 papers are compulsory and one optional subject divided into two papers. WBCS Exam Pattern 2019 - Prelims

The prelims exam will consist of one paper which is divided into 8 sections. The paper will comprise questions from General Studies. WBCS Prelims exam will contain 200 objective type questions. Prelims exam is a screening test conducted to shortlist candidates for WBCS Mains. The difficulty of questions asked in the exam will be similar to the graduation level. WBCS Exam Pattern 2019 – Mains

Candidates will be selected for Mains exam on the basis of marks secured in Prelims exam. According to WBCS exam pattern 2019, the exam will comprise a total of eight papers - six compulsory papers and one optional subject divided into two papers. All the papers will contain 200 marks each. Candidates will be allotted 3 hours to complete each paper. The standard of questions asked in Arithmetic part of the paper titled, Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning will be similar to that of Maths paper at Madhyamik Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, West Bengal while the difficulty of all other papers will be of graduation level. WBCS 2019 Exam Pattern – Personality Test

For the personality test, candidates will be selected based on their performance in the Mains examination. Questions in the test will be on matter of general interest. The aim of the test is to evaluate alertness of candidate’s mind, logical exposition, intellectual and moral integrity, leadership qualities and range of interests of candidates. The test will be conducted for total 200 marks.
