WBCS Syllabus 2020 – West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has prescribed the syllabus of West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) in its official notification on November 4 in online mode. With the help of WBCS syllabus, candidates will be able to understand the topics and accordingly prepare for the exam. The standard of questions asked in the WBCS exam will be similar to that of graduation level. WBCS prelims exam is scheduled to be conducted on Feberuary 9, 2020 in offline mode. Candidates who qualify prelims will be shortlisted to appear for the next stage – Mains. After Mains, the following stage of WBCS recruitment is Personality Test. Applicants will be selected to participate in Personality Test based on marks secured in Mains. Candidates will be selected for WBCS Mains exam on the basis of their performance in Prelims. The Mains exam will contain six compulsory papers and one optional subject comprising two papers. Each of these papers will consist of 200 marks. Candidates will be allotted 3 hours time to complete each paper.

The Mains exam will consist of eight papers of which candidates will have to choose from a list of 37 subjects for the last two papers.
