WBCS Syllabus 2019

WBCS Syllabus 2019 – West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) prescribes the syllabus of West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS). With the help of WBCS syllabus, candidates will be able to prepare better for the exam. The standard of questions asked in the exam will be similar to that of graduation level. As per WBCS syllabus 2019, the topics pertaining to the following subjects will be asked in WBCS – mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, general science and general awareness. WBCS prelims is scheduled to be conducted in January. Candidates who qualify prelims will be shortlisted to appear for the next stage – Mains. After Mains, the following stage of WBCS recruitment is Personality Test. Applicants will be selected to participate in Personality Test based on marks secured in Mains. WBCS Syllabus 2019 – Prelims exam

The Prelims exam comprises one paper on General Studies which is divided into eight sections. WBCS prelims is qualifying in nature and is conducted for a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes. The topics required for the prelims stage of the exam has been provided in the table below.

WBCS Syllabus 2019 – Mains exam

Candidates will be selected for WBCS Mains exam on the basis of their performance in Prelims. The Mains exam will contain six compulsory papers and one optional subject comprising two papers. Each of these papers will consist of 200 marks. Candidates will be allotted 3 hours time to complete each paper.

WBCS 2019 Syllabus for Personality Test

Candidates who have qualified the Mains exam will be shortlisted to appear for Personality Test. The exam will comprise questions regarding matters of general interest. The test assesses candidates’ personal qualities such as alertness of mind, power of clear and logical exposition, intellectual and moral integrity, leadership and their fields of interests. WBCS Personality Test will be held for 200 marks.
