WBCS Preliminary exam
The WBCS preliminary exam is based on General Studies subject. The total marks of WBCS preliminary exam is 200 marks and it will be conducted in MCQ mode. As per the WBCS 2025 exam pattern, 1 mark will be provided for each correct answer and there will be negative marking for answers wrongly attempted.
WBCS Mains exam
Each paper of the WBCS mains exam has 200 marks. The WBCS mains exam is conducted in descriptive mode and contains 6 papers which are based on the following topics -
