WBCS Result 2020 - Public Service Commission, West Bengal is expected to declare WBCS 2020 Result 2020 prelims exam in June in PDF format at- pscwbapplication.in. The result of WBCS 2020 will contain the roll number of all qualified candidates who have appeared in the preliminary exam which will be conducted on February 09. Based on the WBCS Result 2020 preliminary exam, candidates will be selected for the mains exam, which is expected to be conducted in August 2020. WBCS 2020 exam is conducted each year to recruit candidates for Group A officers for the West Bengal Provincial Civil Services. The final WBCS 2020 Result will be declared based on the marks obtained by candidates in mains and the personality test which is the final selection process of WBCS 2020. In 2019, a total of 15997 candidates qualified the prelims exam and were eligible to appear for the mains.

The WBCS 2020 result will be declared in three stages separately:
How to calculate the score of WBCS Preliminary Exam 2020?
Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer.
There is negative marking in the Mains and Prelims exam of WBCS.
Prelims - 1/3 negative marking
Mains - You have a total of six papers in which there are two language papers. You don’t have any negative marking in the two language papers and your optional paper. But you have negative marking in the rest of the four multiple-choice questions based Mains paper which is one third (1/3) of the total marks allotted to the question.
The score of candidates has been calculated based on the number of correct answers after deducting a penalty for wrong answers.
WBCS 2020 Result for Preliminary Exam
The result of the WBCS 2020 prelims exam is expected to be declared in the month of June on the official website of WBCS in PDF format. The preliminary exam consists of a paper on General Studies. The paper is an objective type test consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. The total marks allotted for this paper is 200. The examination authority decides qualifying marks for a preliminary examination to shortlist candidates for mains exam. Candidates whose roll number appears in the WBCS result 2020 for the prelims exam will be eligible to appear for the mains exam of WBCS.
WBCS Result 2020 for Mains Exam
The result of the WBCS 2020 mains exam is likely to be declared in September 2020. WBCS mains examination consisted of six compulsory papers and one optional subject comprising of two papers (only for candidates applying for group A and/or B). The two papers of an optional subject carry 200 marks each. And the compulsory chosen paper carries 200 marks. Based on the WBCS result 2020 for mains, candidates will be selected for the personality test/interview. Marks allotted for personality test for Group A & B posts is 200 while it is 150 for Group C posts. The total marks of personality test for Group D posts are 100 marks.
WBCS 2020 Result for Final Allotment
The final result of WBCS will be declared in November 2020. The exam conducting authority will declare the result for final allotment based on candidate’s performance in the mains exam and the personality test/Interview. WBCS Result 2020 for Final Allotment for Group A and B posts will be calculated out of 1800 marks (1600 marks will be calculated for mains exam and 200 marks will be calculated for personality test/interview). The final result for Group C and D will be determined out of 1350 (1200 marks of mains exam and 150 marks for Personality Test) and 1300 (1200 marks of mains exam and 100 marks of Personality Test), respectively. WBCS will release a merit list of candidates based on the marks in mains exam and personality test. The merit list will contain the roll numbers and names of all the selected candidates. Based on the final result, candidates will be allotted for various civil service posts in the West Bengal Provincial Civil Services.

West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBCS) will release the answer key of WBCS after the exam is conducted in PDF format. Candidates can check WBCS answer key 2020 for all sets of the question paper. The answer key will display correct answers of each question asked in each exam. After the result of WBCS for each stage is declared by the exam conducting body the candidates will qualify for the subsequent stage like - candidates qualifying the prelims will be eligible to appear for mains and then for the interview (personality test). West Bengal Civil Service exam is conducted in 2 phases (written):
- Preliminary Exam – which serves as a Screening Test, consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions on General Studies.
- Main Exam – When you qualify the preliminary exam, you appear for mains. It consists of six co mpulsory papers and one optional subject consisting of two papers (Only if you are applying for group A and / or B). There are two papers of the optional subject of 200 marks each.
- Personality Test – Candidates, in order of merit on the results of the Main Examination for all the services and posts included in Groups A, B, C and D, then have to appear at a Personality Test, where he is asked questions on matters of general interest.
As you mentioned your choice of optional subject as computer science (Code - 19). So you must first go through the syllabus, for which you can consider the following:
Paper – I: Algorithms and Problem solving, Number systems and Arithmetic, Theory of Counting, Graphs and Algorithms, Boolean Algebra, Models of Computer Machines, Numerical Algorithms, Operations Research, Circuit and Network Theory, Basic Electronics, Instruments, Digital Logic and Systems, Data Communication, Data Structure.
Paper – II: Operating System, System Analysis and Design, Object oriented Programming, Computer Architecture and Organization, Micro Processor, Computer Networks, Database Management, Assembler, Loader and Linker, Compiler, Graphics and Multimedia.
