WBCS Result 2019 – Public Service Commission, West Bengal has announced the WBCS result for Preliminary exam on May 14, 2019. The result of WBCS is available online in PDF format. A total of 15997 candidates have qualified as per the result PDF. WBCS 2019 result contains the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Based on the result of the preliminary exam, candidates have been selected for the mains exam. The preliminary exam of WBCS 2019 was conducted on February 9, 2019.

WBCS result 2019 is announced separately for preliminary, mains and final Allotment. WBCS result of mains exam will be announced to shortlist candidates for personality test. The final allotment result of WBCS will be declared based on the marks obtained by candidates in mains and personality test. WBCS Result 2019 for Preliminary Exam

WBCS result of the preliminary exam has been announced on May 14, 2019. The preliminary exam consists of a paper on General Studies. The paper is objective type test consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. The total marks allotted for this paper is 200. The preliminary exam of WBCS is only conducted to shortlist candidates for the mains exam. The marks obtained in the preliminary exam is not be considered for final selection. Only candidates who are declared qualified in the preliminary examination are eligible for admission to the mains exam. The examination authority decides qualifying marks for preliminary examination to shortlist candidates for mains exam.

How to calculate a score of Preliminary Exam?

  • For a correct answer, candidates have scored 1 marks.

  • There was negative marking for each wrong answer. The commission has not specified the negative marks for the wrong answer.

  • The score of candidates has been calculated based on the number of correct answers after deducting a penalty for wrong answers.

WBCS Result 2019 for Mains Exam

The result of WBCS mains exam is likely to be declared in September 2019. The main examination will consist of six compulsory papers and one optional subject comprising of two papers (only for candidates applying for group A and/or B). The two papers of an optional subject will carry 200 marks each. A compulsory or optional paper will carry 200 marks. Based on the WBCS result for mains, candidates will be selected for the Personality Test. Marks allotted for the Personality test for Group A & B posts is 200 while it is 150 for Group C posts. The total marks of Personality Test for Group D posts are 100 marks.

WBCS Result 2019 for Final Allotment

WBCS result for final allotment will be declared in January 2020. The Commission will declare the result for final allotment based on candidate’s performance in mains exam and personality test. WBCS Result 2019 for Final Allotment for Group A and B posts will be calculated out of 1800 marks (1600 marks of mains exam and 200 marks of personality test). The final result for Group C and D will be determined out of 1350 (1200 marks of mains exam and 150 marks for Personality Test) and 1300 (1200 marks of mains exam and 100 marks of Personality Test), receptively. WBCS will release a merit list of candidates based on the marks in mains exam and personality test. The merit list will contain the roll numbers and names of selected candidates. Based on the final result, candidates will be allotted various civil service posts.

WBCS Cut Off 2019

WBCS cut off has been released for the prelims exam on May 14, 2019. The exam conducting authority has released the cut off of WBCS 2019 along with the announcement of the result. All those candidates who have scored the minimum cut off marks are now eligible to appear for the mains exam which is to be conducted from July 25, 2019.
