WBCS Notification 2019

WBCS Notification 2019 – West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts West Bengal Civil Service to recruit candidates for various posts under Group A, B, C and D. The exam is held in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Personality Test. WBCS notification 2019 will be released online in November 2018. The application form will be available along with the notification of WBCS 2019. Candidate must be between 21 and 36 years and have completed graduation from recognised university. WBCS admit card will be released online for all stages of the exam. WBCS Eligibility Criteria 2019

Nationality - Candidates must be citizens of India

Age limit for Group A, C and D – Between 21 and 36 years (as on January 1, 2019)

Age limit for Group B - Between 20 and 36 years (as on January 1, 2019)

Relaxation of age (Upper age limit)

  • SC and ST candidates: 5 years

  • OBC candidates: 3 years

  • PwD candidates: upto 45 years

Note: Only candidates belonging to reserved categories from West Bengal are eligible for age relaxation.

  • Education Qualification – Graduation from a recognised University

 

WBCS Application Form 2019

WBCS application form will be available online along with notification in November. The application fee is Rs. 210 for general and OBC candidates which can be paid online and offline. SC/ ST candidates from West Bengal and PwD candidates are exempted from paying registration fee.

 

WBCS Exam Pattern 2019

Prelims exam:

  • Total number of questions: 200

  • Number of sections: 8

  • Number of questions in each section: 25

  • Total marks: 200

  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Mains exam

  • Number of papers: 8

  • Marks allotted for each paper: 200

  • Total marks of the exam: 1600

  • Duration of each paper: 3 hours

Personality Test:

  • Total marks of the test: 200

  • Type of questions: Pertaining to general interest

  • Aim of the test: To assess candidates’ personal qualities

 

WBCS Selection Process 2019

West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conduct WBCS exam in three stages – prelims, mains and personality test. To be shortlisted for Mains exam, candidates must obtain more than or equal to WBCS prelims cutoff determined by the Commission. Candidates securing the qualifying cut off marks in the Mains exam will be called for Personality Test. On the basis of candidates’ performance in the Personality Test, a provisional list will be prepared to recruit candidates for the various posts available.
