The Public Service Commission, West Bengal has released the admit card of WBCS 2020 for the preliminary exam on January 20, 2020. WBCS Exam Pattern - Mains Exam

The mains exam of WBCS will consist of 6 Compulsory Papers + 1 Optional Paper (2 papers of Candidate's Choice). 2 Papers of the optional subject will carry 200 marks and will have a time duration of 3 hours.

Out of the 6 subjects, the following 4 subjects will be MCQ-based to be answered in OMR answer sheet.

(i) General Studies- I

(ii) General Studies- II

(iii) The Constitution of India and Indian Economy including role and functions of Reserve Bank of India and

(iv) Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning

Remaining two compulsory papers i.e. Paper – I and Paper – II will be of conventional written examination.

Paper 2: Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali – Letter writing (150 words) / Drafting of Report (200 words), Précis Writing, Composition and Translation from English to Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali

  • Reach at least 1 hour before the reporting time.

  • It is advised that candidates visit the exam centre 2-3 days before the exam day to get an idea of the route and traffic and manage the transport accordingly.

you did not mention the exam name which you have applied under west bengal public service commission, however if you are asking about wbcs (west bengal civil service), you can not change the optional subject name once you have final submitted the application form.

I don't think just 1 to 10th covers whole syllabus of WBCS exam
