SBI Clerk Prelims Result 2018 has been declared by State Bank of India (SBI) on July 24, 2018. Candidates can download SBI Clerk prelims result by registration number or date of birth. Along with the result, candidates can also know the SBI Clerk cut off score and their eligibility for appearing in mains exam. The result has been announced only for those candidates who have secured sectional and overall qualifying marks as per their category.
The result of SBI Clerk 2018 prelims has been declared to those candidates who have secured qualifying marks in each of the three subjects’ English language, numerical and reasoning ability. The sectional and overall qualifying marks for SBI Clerk prelims exam has been decided by the examination authority State Bank of India based on the number of appeared in the exam and difficulty level of questions.
Based on the prelims result, around 83,010 candidates (equal to 10 times the total 8301 vacancy) are selected for appearing in the SBI Clerk mains exam scheduled to held on August 5, 2018. Candidates will be selected for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in clerical cadre based on marks of SBI Clerk mains exam. This year cut off score is higher because the total number of vacancy is around 10000 as compared to 16000 in previous year. Also, as per the notification, approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies candidates will be selected for next round of selection process earlier the number of candidates selected for next round was 20 times.

The SBI Clerk 2018 result for preliminary has been declared only for those candidates who have scored the qualifying marks in the online entrance exam. Only those who has qualified the SBI Clerk 2018 preliminary exam has been allowed to appear for SBI Clerk 2018 mains. According to officials, marks obtained in the preliminary examination (SBI Clerk 2018 Phase-I) will not be added while preparing final merit list of candidates for selection.
The SBI Clerk 2018 result for mains will be declared only those candidates who will score passing marks in the exam. As per the SBI Clerk 2018 qualifying criteria candidates have to score qualifying marks in each subject namely general/financial awareness, general English, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability and computer aptitude. For qualifying the clerk exam candidates have to pass in each of the given subjects. The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the SBI on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available). Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank depending on the number of candidates appeared in the exam and difficulty level of questions. Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the SBI. As per notification, no minimum qualifying marks for individual subject are prescribed. The merit list of SBI Clerk 2018 will be drawn State wise and category wise. Candidates qualified in the mains will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories
Test of knowledge of official and/or local language in SBI Clerk 2018 result: Candidates have to produce class10 mark sheet/certificate as evidence having studied official (local) language will be exempted any language test. In case candidates not have certificate in language, a test will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining. According to official, candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.
The final result of SBI Clerk 2018 will be based on the marks obtained in main examination (Phase-II). While preparing SBI Clerk Result the marks obtained in the preliminary examination (Phase-I) will not be added or considered. Final selection of candidates for SBI Clerk 2018 will be made on the basis of candidate's performance in the mains exam.
Final selection in SBI Clerk 2018 will be subject to fulfilment of following factors:
Verification of eligibility for the post and information furnished in the online application
Qualifying in test of specified opted local language
Results of the candidates who have provisionally qualified for selection will be made available on the official website.
What is SBI Clerk 2018 Wait List:
A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies (State-category wise) will be maintained by examination authority based on the SBI Clerk 2018 final result. Candidates will be released from this waitlist on quarterly basis against non-joining and resignation out of the current batch only, subject to the candidates securing minimum qualifying marks as may be stipulated by the Bank for selection. This wait list will be valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of final result.
