SSC CGL 2018 - Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the eligibility criteria for the posts of Inspector in Central Bureau of Narcotics. As per the official notice, the upper age limit for this post has been revised to 30 years. Earlier, the upper limit was 27 years. However, the lower age limit for this post remains unchanged. The exam dates of SSC CGL Tier 1 will be announced anytime soon by the Commission.

SSC CGL 2018 admit card for Tier 1 will be issued to candidates two weeks prior the commencement of exam. The Tier 1 exam will be held in Computer Based Mode across 130 cities throughout the country. On the basis of the performance in SSC CGL Tier 1, candidates will be selected for Tier 2. SSC CGL is conducted for filling up approximately 9000 vacancies in various Group B and C posts in government departments. SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2018

The eligibility criteria of SSC CGL in terms of age, nationality, educational qualification is given below.

Nationality 

Candidates must be Indian national.

Age Limit 

The age of candidates vary as per posts. Candidate’s age will be calculated as on August 1, 2018. Date of Birth should be as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to candidates belonging to unreserved categories. The maximum and minimum age of candidates for SSC CGL 2018 is given below.

  • Maximum: 32 years

  • Minimum: 18 years 

Educational Qualification as on August 1, 2018

Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer: Graduation from recognized university. Candidates with Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics are given preference.

Junior Statistical Officer:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 60 % in Mathematics in Class 12 or

  • Graduation in any subject with Statistics

SSC CGL Application Form 2018

The application form of SSC CGL was released on May 5. Earlier, the last date of application was June 4, 2018. However, due to technical glitch in the official website the application deadline was extended to June 5. Candidates could pay the application fee online from May 5 to June 5. Offline fee payment was available till June 7 provided the challan was generated before June 5. Fee for general and OBC candidates was Rs 100 while Women, SC, ST, PWD categories were exempted. SSC CGL application form could be filled in two parts. In Part I, candidates could fill their basic information. In Part II, candidates could pay their application fees, upload photograph and signature.

SSC CGL Admit Card 2018

SSC CGL admit card for Tier 1 will be issued to candidates in September. To download SSC CGL admit card 2018 online region-wise, candidates have to enter their registration number/roll number/name and date of birth. The Tier 1 admit card will be released for candidates whose applications have been accepted by the exam conducting authority. Candidates have to carry one photo-identity proof along with the admit card for verification. The admit card is an important document without it candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. SSC CGL admit card is issued separately for Tier 1, 2, 3 and 4. 

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2018

SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is conducted in Computer Based Mode comprising four sections - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. According to SSC CGL exam pattern, Tier 1 exam carries total 100 questions. Candidates have to attempt the paper within 60 minutes. The maximum marks allotted for the exam is 200. Candidates for correct answer will score 2 marks while 0.50 marks will be deducted for wrong answer. SSC CGL exam pattern of Tier 2 comprises four papers. Paper I and II is common for all posts while Paper III and IV is for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer. The online exam comprises total 500 questions carrying 800 marks. Total time duration of the exam is 120 minutes. There is negative marking of 0.25 for wrong answer in Paper II while 0.50 marks will be deducted for incorrect response in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV. The Tier 3 of SSC CGL is a descriptive type test of 100 marks. Candidates will get 60 minutes to answer the questions. Candidates have to secure qualifying marks of 33 % in Tier 3 exam. SSC CGL 2018 Tier 4 is skill test comprising Date Entry Skill Test (DEST) and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The detailed SSC CGL exam pattern 2018 of all the four tiers is given below.

SSC CGL Syllabus 2018

The questions will be of both verbal and non-verbal type. The questions will be based on analogies, similarities and series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal, etc.

General Awareness

Questions will test candidate’s general awareness of the environment and its application to society. Questions will test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person

Quantitative Aptitude

The questions will be from computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, etc.

English Comprehension

Ability to understand correct English, c comprehension and writing ability, etc.

Paper III Statistics for Investigator Grade II

Collection Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data, Measures of Dispersion, Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, Probability Theory, Random Variable and Probability Distributions, Sampling Theory, Statistical Inference, Time Series Analysis, Index Numbers, Analysis of Variance, etc.

SSC CGL Answer Key 2018

The answer key of SSC CGL Tier 1 will be released after completion of exam. Candidates have to download SSC CGL answer key online by logging into their respective accounts using roll number, password (Date of Birth) and exam dates. SSC provides the facility to raise objections against the questions or answers. The window to raise objections will be made available along with the answer key. For per answer, candidates have to pay Rs 100. Fee can be paid online. The objections will be examined by experts. If the challenges are accepted then the fee will be refunded to candidates. 

SSC CGL Result 2018

The result of SSC CGL will be released separately for Tier 1, 2 and final. First, SSC CGL result of Tier 1 will be declared followed by the declaration of Tier 2 and final. On the basis of SSC CGL Tier 1 result, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Tier 2 and 3. SSC CGL result 2018 of Tier 1 is expected to be announced in December. Marks of both qualified and non-qualified candidates will be declared few days after the declaration of result. The Tier 1 marks of candidates will be calculated out of 200 marks. Candidates need to qualify in all the subjects - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Candidates who secures qualifying marks prescribed by the commission will be declared qualified in Tier 1 exam. SSC CGL result 2018 for Tier 2 is likely to be declared in May 2019. Candidates are selected for Tier 3 and 4 based on their marks of Tier 1 and 2. The final SSC CGL result 2018 will be declared after conduct of Tier 3 and 4. The final SSC CGL result will be announced in December, 2019.  SSC CGL result 2018 for all the stages will be made available in PDF file. The result will mention the names, roll numbers and categories of qualified candidates.

SSC CGL Cutoff 2018

The cutoff of SSC CGL is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates have to secure to qualify the exam and become eligible for next round of recruitment process. SSC will announce SSC CGL cutoff  for Tier 1, 2 and final.  SSC CGL cutoff for all the stages will be declared along with the result. SSC CGL cutoff of is released as per category and posts. There is no sectional cutoff however candidates need to qualify in all sections of exam. Candidates who secures overall cutoff as per their category will be selected for Tier 2. On the basis of SSC CGL cutoff of Tier II will be eligible for appearing in Tier 3 and 4. The final SSC CGL cutoff 2018 is decided based on the marks of Tier I, II and III.
