HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 – Nationality

According to the notification, applicants must be Indian citizens. Candidates from Himachal Pradesh are required to provide their domicile certificate.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Trained Graduate Teachers (Arts):

• B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard (or)

• B.A./B.Com. with at least 45 per cent marks and a 1-year Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time. (or)

• B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education (or)

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor's in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A.Ed.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - TGT (Non-Medical)

• For those candidates who have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and four years of B.Sc. (NM) in Elementary Education. (or)

• B.Sc. Non-Medical with 50% and a 1-year Bachelor's degree in Education, or Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and four years of Bachelor's in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) (or)

• B.Sc (Non-Medical) with at least 45 per cent marks or more for those candidates who have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and four years of Bachelor's in Non-Medical (Special Education) (or)

• One year of Bachelor's in Education(B.Ed) as per NCTE

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Sanskrit

• The minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a recognised University/Institution by the H.P. Government. (or)

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor's in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) with Sanskrit. (or)

• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education). (or)

• 4-year degree of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. with Sanskrit from any National Council for Teacher Education-recognised institution.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - TGT Medical

• Candidates must have completed a B.Sc.(Medical) with a minimum of 45 per cent for those who passed before August 30, 2010 and 50 per cent for those who completed after August 30, 2010. (or)

• Candidates must have completed one year of Bachelor's in Education(B.Ed.) or Special Education as per NCTE B.Sc (Medical) with a minimum of 50% marks and one year of Bachelor's in Education(B.Ed.) or Special Education as per NCTE B.Sc (Medical) with a minimum of 50% marks. (or)

• B.Sc. (Medical) with a minimum of 50% and a one-year bachelor's degree in education (B.Ed.). (or)

• Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and four years of B.Sc.(Medical)Ed. (B.El.Ed.).

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Language Teacher

• Must have an M.A. in Hindi from a recognised university with at least 50% marks and one year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). (or)

• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks and have studied Hindi as an elective subject, as well as hold a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in Special Education. (or)

• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with Hindi as an elective subject and a two-year Elementary Education Diploma. (or)

• Candidates must have completed one year of a Bachelor of Education program at an NCTE-accredited university and hold a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 45% in Hindi as an elective subject. (or)

• Must have completed a Bachelor's in Arts (English and one other subject) with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised university.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - JBT

• A two-year elementary education diploma and a bachelor's degree are required. (or)

• 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised Board/University and a two-year JBT certificate from an institute duly recognised by the Central State Government are required. (or)

• According to NCTE, a senior high school diploma with a minimum of 45 per cent and a two-year elementary education diploma are required. (or)

• Senior high school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a two-year diploma in elementary education (Special Education). (or)

• Senior secondary school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks, and a two-year elementary education diploma. (or)

• A minimum of 50% in senior high school or equivalent.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Punjabi

• Candidates must have scored more than or equal to 50% in a Bachelor's degree with Punjabi as an elective subject and one year in a Bachelor's degree in education (B.Ed.) Particular education (or)

• Candidates must hold a master's degree in Punjabi with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised university and a bachelor's degree in education (B.Ed.) for a minimum of one year. (or)

• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Punjabi as an elective subject and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (or)

• Candidates should have one year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) per NCTE and must have scored 45 per cent or more in Graduation with Punjabi as an elective subject.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Urdu

• Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's degree with Urdu as an elective subject and one year of Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.) Education for the Disabled. (or)

• Candidates with a BA degree with a minimum of 50% marks (Urdu as an elective subject) and one year of Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.). (or)

• Master's with a minimum of 50% marks in Urdu and one year of Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.). (or)

• B.A. with a minimum of 45 per cent marks with Urdu as an elective subject and one year of Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.) in compliance with the NCTE. (or)

• B.T. with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English & one additional subject with 50% marks from a recognised University and 1 year Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed.)

HP TET Application Form 2026

The HP TET application form 2026 will be released on the official website. Candidates need to follow several steps, including registration, filling in the information, uploading scanned pictures, creating a signature file, and paying the HP TET application fee, to complete the application form. The HP TET admit card 2026 will be issued to those candidates who have successfully submitted their application form.

The application fee must be paid online through Internet Banking, Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, IMPS, or Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets.

HP TET Eligibility Certificate

Candidates who qualify for the HP TET exam will be awarded the HP TET eligibility certificate. The validity of HP TET eligibility certificate is lifetime. Earlier, it was for seven years, but this has now been changed to a lifetime following a decision made by the Indian Education Minister.
