    CAPF Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Nationality

    As per the eligibility criteria of CAPF 2026, candidates must be of Indian nationality. Apart from that, candidates with citizenship of Nepal and Bhutan are also deemed eligible to apply for the CAPF exam.

    CAPF Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Education Qualifications

    As per the CAPF 2026 eligibility criteria, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree. Those candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination and are awaiting their results can also apply for the CAPF exam; however, before the final selection, they will have to produce their passing certificates.

    Limits of Refractive errors permitted

    It must be noted that if an applicant has undergone LASIK surgery correction, then it must have been according to prescribed criteria as mentioned below:

    • Age – 18 to 35 years

    • Axial-length – 21 to 26 mm.

    • Corneal-thickness 425 micron

    • Pre-LASIK error - 6 D

    • Post-operative - Should be stable period refractive flap

    • Interval - 06 months (post-operative period mandatory

    Candidates must have completed 06 months after LASIK surgery to be considered for recruitment in CAPFs.

    Carrying angle

    The Carrying angle should not be more than 15˚ for male applicants and 20˚ for female applicants.

    Hearing Power

    • No degree of deafness or persistent ear discharge should be present.

    • No other conditions (congenital or acquired) such as atresia of the meatus, exostosis, neoplasm which may cause obstruction of ear passage.

    • No history of recurrent earache, tinnitus and vertigo.

    Nose

    • No DNS, atrophic rhinitis, tuberculous ulceration or chronic sinusitis.

    Neck

    • Aspirants should not have enlarged lymph nodes, thyroid or other swellings of the neck.

    • Inability to extend the neck fully or any evidence of disease of spine or cervical vertebrae.

    Teeth

    • Aspirants must have a sufficient number of sound teeth for efficient mastication.

    • Aspirants must not have severe pyorrhoea.

    Venereal Disease

    • Aspirants must not have active signs of clinical VD.

    Chronic skin diseases

    • Aspirants must not have chronic skin diseases like extensive Pityriasis Versicolor, Leprosy, chronic dermatitis, psoriasis and SLE.

    General Standards:

    • No stammering

    • No indication of chronic diseases like TB, arthritis, high blood pressure, Diabetes, heart disease, and Bronchial Asthma.

    • No perceptible and visible glandular swelling anywhere in the body.

    • Chest should be well-formed, devoid of any abnormality like flat chest, Pigeon chest, with rickety rosary defects.

    • Heart and lungs should be sound.

    • Limbs, hands and feet should be well-formed and fully developed.

    • The perfect motion of all joints should be seen.

    • Should not have any old /malunited fracture of bones.

    • Should not have congenital malformation or defects.

    • Should not bear traces of previous acute or chronic disease pointing to an impaired constitution.

    • Should have no disease of the genitourinary tract.

    • No inguinal, scrotal swelling or any type of Hernia.

    • Both the testicles are in the scrotum and of normal size.

    • No knock knees, flat foot, varicose veins.

    • Good mental and bodily health

    • Should not suffer from TACHYCARDIA (more than 100 pulse rate per minute) or BRADYCARDIA (Less than 50 per minute).

    • Should not suffer from Hernia, haemorrhoids, condyloma prolapse rectum.

    CAPF AC 2026: NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates

    Along with meeting CAPF 2026 eligibility criteria, candidates will also be required to have the possession of an NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate. However, these qualifications will be considered at the time of the Interview/Personality Test. They will have no effect at the time of application.

    CAPF Eligibility Criteria 2026 - Non-Eligible Candidates

    Candidates who are already employed in a Government Service, or Public Enterprise will have to submit a Non-Objection certification during the document verification process. This undertaking must be included in writing that they have applied for the examination. The NOC should be sent to their Head of Office / Department. In case the said department withholds permission to candidates applying for the examination, their application will be rejected. The decision of UPSC regarding the acceptance of the application and the eligibility of the candidate will be final.

    Number of attempts allowed for UPSC CAPF 2026

    There are no limitations on the number of attempts to apply for the CAPF 2026. Candidates can apply for the CAPF exam as many times as they wish until attaining the maximum age limit.

    The UPSC released the application form of CAPF 2026 from February 20 to March 12, 2026 online on its official website. Candidates who meet the CAPF 2026 eligibility criteria are eligible to fill out the application form.
