NDA Vacancy 2024 - The UPSC will conduct the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy (NDA & NA) exam. The UPSC will be publishing the NDA 2024 Vacancy in the official Notification. Candidates who wish to attempt the NDA 2024 exam must go through the notification to know about the NDA vacancies across academies. The NDA 2024 is conducted twice annually with the purpose of recruiting candidates for the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA and Naval Academy courses. For NDA 1 2024, the UPSC will release the NDA exam vacancy details in the official notification on December 20, 2024. The UPSC will also release the NDA 1 application form 2024 along with the official notification. Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be able to apply for the NDA 1 2024 until January 9, 2024. The NDA 1 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on April 21, 2024. Candidates who qualify in NDA 1 2024, will be recruited as per the NDA vacancy 2024.

The NDA is one of India's most popular and competitive defense exams. UPSC conducts the exam to fill in various NDA 2024 vacancies, for admission of eligible aspirants into the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Air Force wings as well as an Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). UPSC NDA is conducted twice a year in two stages: written exam and SSB Interview, and the NDA vacancies are released in the official notification. NDA Salary 2024

The NDA salary is given to candidates who qualify in the exam and get recruited in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, or Indian Air Force as per their merit. The NDA salary consists of the detailed salary, pay scale, allowances, perks, in-hand salary. NDA salary ranges from Rs. 56,100- Rs. 1,77,500/-. Candidates, for the first 4 years, are selected for the course, during which they are given stipend as Rs. 15600.

Candidates should typically be between the ages of 16.5 and 19.5 when the course starts. Candidates for NDA 1 (2026) must have been born between July 2, 2007, and July 1, 2010. Candidates for NDA 2 (2026) must have been born between January 2, 2008, and January 1, 2011.

So, unfortunately, you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria and that's why ineligible for NDA exam 2026.

For the NDA (National Defence Academy) exam , eyesight requirements vary by service (Army, Navy, Air Force).

Eligibility based on eyesight :-

  • Army: Maximum permissible myopia is -2.5D . You are not eligible with -10D.
  • Navy: Maximum myopia allowed is -1.5D . You are not eligible .
  • Air Force: Requires near-perfect vision; -10D is not allowed

Alternative options :-

  • LASIK surgery : Allowed under strict conditions (age >20, stable power, etc.).
  • Consider non-combat roles in defence services.
  • Explore other government exams like CDS (for OTA).
