UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC ESE 2020 Eligibility Criteria in official notification on September 25, 2019. Candidates who wish to apply for Indian Engineering Services (IES) Exam must check the eligibility criteria of UPSC ESE 2020 before applying for the exam. It is to be noted that aspirants who do not fulfill the upsc ies eligibility, their candidature may be rejected by the authority at any stage of the selection process. UPSC ESE eligibility criteria 2020 consists of important details which includes educational qualification, age limit, nationality and other important details. Hence candidates should check all the important information related to UPSC ESE exam.

UPSC ESE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates will be considered to be eligible to participate in UPSC ESE/IES 2020 based on the parameters provided below.

UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria 2020- Nationality

Candidates applying for UPSC ESE must be either:

  • a citizen of India, or

  • a subject of Nepal, or

  • a subject of Bhutan, or

  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 settled permanently in India, or

  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam and settled permanently in India.

UPSC IES 2020 Eligibility Criteria - Age Limit

Candidates who fulfill the age wise eligibility criteria of UPSC ESE exam can only fulfill the application form. Age wise minimum and maximum table is mentioned in below given table

UPSC ESE Eligibility 2020 - Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for UPSC ESE 2020 exam must fulfill the prescribed education qualification before applying for the exam.

  • A degree in Engineering from the Central or State University or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities or UGC

  • A degree/diploma in Engineering from foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or

  • Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India).

  • Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or

  • Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November 1959.

  • Candidates applying for Indian Radio Regulatory Service must have M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject or Master’s Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject.

  • Candidates applying for Indian Naval Armament Service must have M.Sc.degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.

UPSC ESE Eligibility 2020- Medical Standard

  • Each Candidate has to undergo a medical examination irrespective of their reservation.

  • Medical examination will only be conducted at the various Railway hospitals.

  • ESE 2020 Medical examination schedule, venue and final status of candidate will be uploaded on the official website of Indian Railways.

  • Candidates are required to carry three sets form for Medical Board Report, by downloadeding from the official website of Indian Railways.

  • Candidates must carry a valid prescribed government issued Photo ID card and three passport size photograph along with them.

  • Candidates belonging to PwD category must carry original copy of their Disability Certificate as per the format prescribed along with the photocopy of same.

  • Candidates who are found unfit will be disqualified from the further procedure of recruitment process of Engineering Service Exam 2020.

UPSC ESE Application Form 2020

The application form of UPSC ESE was released on September 25, 2019. The last day to fill the application form is October 25, 2019. UPSC ESE application form can be filled in two parts. Candidates have to fill basic details in part 1 whereas in part 2, post that candidates have to upload scanned photograph, signature, select one preferred exam centre and pay the requisite fee.

UPSC ESE Exam Pattern 2020

Candidates after knowing eligibility criteria of UPSC ESE 2020 also know the exam pattern related information.

  • Engineering Services preliminary examination will consist of two objective type (multiple choice) questions papers.

  • Total weightage of both papers are 500 marks (Paper 1 – 200 Marks & Paper II – 300 Marks).

  • There will be one-third negative marking in exam

  • Only those candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission in the preliminary stage exam will be eligible to appear for the main stage‐II examination.

  • Marks obtained in preliminary stage examination by the candidates will be counted for determining their final order of merit.

Hello,

Yes, candidate who have attained 21 years age and have graduated or in final year of graduation are eligible to apply for UPSC. There's no specific aggregate required to apply for this exam, one just needs to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
