UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria 2025 - Nationality

As per the IES 2025 eligibility, candidates who are Indian citizens by birth or refugee/ migrants (as per rules set by the government) can fill the application form. More details on the UPSC ESE eligibility are mentioned below.

1. Citizen of India or

2. A subject of Nepal/ Bhutan or

3. People of Indian origin who migrated from Uganda, Burma, Pakistan, Zambia, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India, or

4. Tibetan refugee who came to India, to permanently settle before January 1, 1962.

The basic UPSC ESE 2025 educational qualifications that a candidate must have to be eligible for the examination is a bachelor's degree in engineering. UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria 2025 - Medical Standard

Candidates wanting to get recruited through the UPSC ESE 2025 exam must clear all the stages of the selection process. Applicants appearing for the Indian Engineering Services exam must be physically and mentally fit and sound. After the IES personality test, shortlisted candidates will have to undergo several medical examinations at the medical centre as notified by the Commission at various Railway hospitals across the country. They will have to pass all the medical tests to get hired by the UPSC in the Indian Engineering Services. Key points to know for IES medical exam eligibility.

• All shortlisted candidates have to undergo a medical test irrespective of their reservation.

• The medical examination will only be conducted at different Railway hospital medical centres across the country.

• Union Public Service Commission will upload the ESE medical examination schedule, venue and final status of the candidate on the official website of Indian Railways after the UPSC ESE Result 2025.

• Candidates need to carry three sets forms for the Medical Board Report, it can be downloaded from the official website of Railways.

• Along with the forms, candidates must carry an original valid Photo ID card and three passport size photographs.

• Those belonging to the PwD category must carry their original copy of the Disability Certificate as per the format prescribed by UPSC.

• Aspirants who are not found fit or fail to clear the ESE medical exam will be disqualified from the Engineering services recruitment process.

UPSC ESE Application Form 2025

Union Public Service Commission has released the UPSC ESE application form 2025 on September 18, 2024. The last date to submit the UPSC ESE 2025 application form is October 8, 2024. Those who meet the IES 2025 eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for the examination on their official website. The UPSC ESE 2025 application form has two stages - stage 1 (One Time Registration) and stage 2 (application form). The UPSC ESE 2025 application fee is Rs.200 for the general and OBC categories. On successful completion of both parts of the IES application process, candidates will receive a confirmation regarding the same.
