IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018 - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) announces the selection procedure of IBPS PO 2018 for recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) in the banks. As per the notification, IBPS PO selection process consists of three phases - Prelims, Mains and Interview. The candidates must qualify in each stage of the selection procedure of IBPS PO to be eligible for Probationary Officers. Candidates who had secured the qualifying marks in IBPS PO 2018 prelims were shortlisted to appear for the mains exam. Candidates qualifying the IBPS PO 2018 mains examination are shortlisted to appear for interview and group exercises.

IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018

IBPS is conducting IBPS PO 2018 in three stages – prelims, mains and interview. As per IBPS PO selection process 2018, the authority will fill 4252 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officers. As per the selection procedure of IBPS PO, the marks obtained in the IBPS PO 2018 prelims will not be added for preparation of the final IBPS PO 2018 merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in IBPS PO 2018 mains, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview for preparing the final merit list. For IBPS PO selection procedure, the exam authority has released the IBPS PO prelims scorecard along with the cut off on November 12, 2018. Candidates check their IBPS PO 2018 scores by using registration number/roll number and date of birth and password. The prelims exam of IBPS PO was conducted in online mode on October 13, 14, 20 and 21 in 195 cities across the country.

IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018 – Phases

The recruitment process of State Bank of India Probationary Officers (PO) is done in three phases. Candidates can check details of the IBPS PO selection procedure given below.

As per IBPS PO selection procedure, IBPS PO preliminary exam had 100 MCQs comprising of three sections and 100 questions.  Approximately 20000 candidates were shortlisted for the mains examination from the top of the merit list.

IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018 for Mains Examination

IBPS PO 2018 mains exam was conducted in online mode in both objective and descriptive test for 250 marks. Objective type paper carried 200 marks consisting of 4 sections while descriptive test paper had 50 marks for English language test. A total of three hours were given to the candidates to complete the exam.  Only qualified candidates in mains exam are called for next stage of IBPS PO selection process i.e. Interview.

IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018 for Interview Examination

Scores secured in the mains (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. 

After converting the marks of mains and Interview out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

List of Documents to be produced at the time of interview

The following documents in original and self-attested photocopies in support of the candidate’s eligibility and identity are to be invariably submitted at the time of interview failing which the candidate may not be permitted to appear for the interview. Non-submission of requisite documents by the candidate at the time of interview will debar his candidature from further participation in the recruitment process.

  • Printout of the valid Interview Call Letter

  • Valid system generated the printout of the online application form registered for CRP- PO/MT-VIII

  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Municipal Authorities or SSLC/ Std. X Certificate with DOB)

  • Photo Identity Proof as indicated in Point G of the advertisement

  • Mark-sheets or certificates for Graduation or equivalent qualification etc. Proper document from Board/ University for having declared the result on or before 04.09.2018 has to be submitted.

  • Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by Government of India in the case of SC / ST / OBC category candidates.

  • Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under creamy layer and/ or if their caste does not find place in the Central List are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as General in the online application form.

  • Disability certificate in the prescribed format issued by the District Medical Board in case of Persons With Benchmark Disability category

  • If the candidate has used the services of a Scribe at the time of online exam the duly filled in details of the scribe in the prescribed format

  • Any other relevant documents in support of eligibility

IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018 for Final Merit List

For declaration of final merit, marks obtained in the mains examination and Interview are calculated. The selection is made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

IBPS PO 2018 Joining & Training

  • After IBPS PO selection procedure is completed selected candidates will be designated as “Probationary Officers” and will be on probation for two years.

  • Candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations, based on merit-cum-preference

  • Further, those officers who achieve higher standards/ scores stipulated by the Bank may be considered for Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees CRP- PO/MT-VIII  after confirmation.

  • If any candidate fails to achieve minimum standards prescribed by IBPS the candidates may be terminated as per policy of the Bank in force at the material time.

Hello,

Sorry but u are not eligible to take the ibps po exam of 2020 since all candidates must have a graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized University the marksheet should be dated earlier than august 28 ,2020 for qualification .

There isn't any minimum percentage requirement to be eligible to appear in SBI PO and IBPS PO.

  • To be eligible to appear in SBI PO a candidate must have passed bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized board or University or Central Government.
  • Candidates who are in final year are also eligible.

  • A candidate must have passed bachelor's degree from a recognized board or university.

Hi
The maximum age to appear in  IBPS PO exam is 30 years. There is relaxation of three years for non creamy layer of OBC caste. As your age is 31 years now, you can give the exam upto the age of 33 years.
So you are eligible for the IBPS PO entrance exam.

Hi Dilep,

According to the eligibility criteria of IBPS PO 2020 Exam a candidate below 20 years and a candidate above 30 years are not eligible for this exam.

Seeing your birth date, your age is 31 years now, so, clearly you are not eligible for this Exam.
