IBPS PO Selection Procedure 2018 - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) announces the selection procedure of IBPS PO 2018 for recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) in the banks. As per the notification, IBPS PO selection process consists of three phases - Prelims, Mains and Interview. The candidates must qualify in each stage of the selection procedure of IBPS PO to be eligible for Probationary Officers. Candidates who had secured the qualifying marks in IBPS PO 2018 prelims were shortlisted to appear for the mains exam. Candidates qualifying the IBPS PO 2018 mains examination are shortlisted to appear for interview and group exercises.
IBPS is conducting IBPS PO 2018 in three stages – prelims, mains and interview. As per IBPS PO selection process 2018, the authority will fill 4252 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officers. As per the selection procedure of IBPS PO, the marks obtained in the IBPS PO 2018 prelims will not be added for preparation of the final IBPS PO 2018 merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in IBPS PO 2018 mains, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview for preparing the final merit list. For IBPS PO selection procedure, the exam authority has released the IBPS PO prelims scorecard along with the cut off on November 12, 2018. Candidates check their IBPS PO 2018 scores by using registration number/roll number and date of birth and password. The prelims exam of IBPS PO was conducted in online mode on October 13, 14, 20 and 21 in 195 cities across the country.

As per IBPS PO selection procedure, IBPS PO preliminary exam had 100 MCQs comprising of three sections and 100 questions. Approximately 20000 candidates were shortlisted for the mains examination from the top of the merit list.

IBPS PO 2018 mains exam was conducted in online mode in both objective and descriptive test for 250 marks. Objective type paper carried 200 marks consisting of 4 sections while descriptive test paper had 50 marks for English language test. A total of three hours were given to the candidates to complete the exam. Only qualified candidates in mains exam are called for next stage of IBPS PO selection process i.e. Interview.

Scores secured in the mains (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25.
After converting the marks of mains and Interview out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
The following documents in original and self-attested photocopies in support of the candidate’s eligibility and identity are to be invariably submitted at the time of interview failing which the candidate may not be permitted to appear for the interview. Non-submission of requisite documents by the candidate at the time of interview will debar his candidature from further participation in the recruitment process.

Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Municipal Authorities or SSLC/ Std. X Certificate with DOB)
Photo Identity Proof as indicated in Point G of the advertisement
Mark-sheets or certificates for Graduation or equivalent qualification etc. Proper document from Board/ University for having declared the result on or before 04.09.2018 has to be submitted.
Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by Government of India in the case of SC / ST / OBC category candidates.
Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under creamy layer and/ or if their caste does not find place in the Central List are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as General in the online application form.
Disability certificate in the prescribed format issued by the District Medical Board in case of Persons With Benchmark Disability category
If the candidate has used the services of a Scribe at the time of online exam the duly filled in details of the scribe in the prescribed format
Any other relevant documents in support of eligibility
For declaration of final merit, marks obtained in the mains examination and Interview are calculated. The selection is made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

After IBPS PO selection procedure is completed selected candidates will be designated as “Probationary Officers” and will be on probation for two years.
Candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations, based on merit-cum-preference
Further, those officers who achieve higher standards/ scores stipulated by the Bank may be considered for Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees CRP- PO/MT-VIII after confirmation.
If any candidate fails to achieve minimum standards prescribed by IBPS the candidates may be terminated as per policy of the Bank in force at the material time.

In IBPS PO prelims, there are a total of 100 questions each carrying 1 mark. In preliminary exam, there are 30 questions in english, 35 questions in quantitative aptitude and 35 questions in reasoning ability. There is a sectional cut-off in all the 3 sections which you will need to qualify separately as well as the overall cutoff. As a result of this, every year the cut-off changes. In 2018, the cut-off was 56.75 for general, 55.50 for OBC, 49.25 for SC and 41.75 for ST category. So try to solve correctly more number of questions as there is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
