Educational Qualification

• Completion of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) after graduation. Final year students of D.El.Ed can also apply.

• Completion of a Basic Training Certificate (BTC) program for teachers through distance education after graduation. Final year students of the BTC program are also eligible.

• Pursue a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree alongside or after completing a graduation or postgraduate degree (minimum 50% marks required).

• Completion of a B.Ed. degree alongside or after completing a graduation or postgraduate degree (minimum 45% marks required).

• Completion of graduation along with a BTC in Urdu. Final year students are also eligible.

• Possession of a teaching diploma from Aligarh Muslim University in addition to a graduation degree.

• Completion of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program after passing class 12th with a minimum of 50% marks.

• Applicants must hold a graduation or postgraduate degree (minimum 50% marks) along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Bachelor of Education in Special Education (B.Ed. Special Education). Final year students of B.Ed./B.Ed. Special Education is also eligible.

• Applicants must have a minimum of 50% marks in +2 and hold a four-year Bachelor of Science in Education (BScEd) or Bachelor of Science with Bachelor of Education (BSc BEd) degree from a UGC/National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recognized institution. Final year students of BScEd/BSc BEd are also eligible.

• Applicants must have a minimum of 50% marks in +2 and hold a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degree. Final year students of B.El.Ed are also eligible.

• Applicants must possess a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks and complete a one-year B.Ed. program.

Taking the UPTET Exam

The UPTET consists of two papers. Paper 1 is for aspiring teachers of grades 1-5, while Paper 2 caters to those aiming for grades 6-8. If you want to teach across both sections (1-8), you'll need to take both papers.

Achieving Qualifying Marks

The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) announces the results on the official UPTET website. To qualify, you'll need to secure a minimum of 60% marks in the written test. There's a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC category candidates.

Receiving the Eligibility Certificate

Upon qualifying, UPBEB issues a lifetime eligibility certificate. This certificate empowers you to apply for teaching positions in Uttar Pradesh schools. Previously, the certificate had a five-year validity period, but this has been revised to be permanent.
