The commission will declare the result of UP PCS 2019 for prelims exam on its official website. UPPSC pre 2019 result contains the roll number of candidates who scored the qualifying marks prescribed by exam conducting authorities. The preliminary exam of UP PCS comprises of two papers – General Studies Paper 1 and 2. Each paper carries 200 marks. There are negative marks of 0.33 for wrong answers. Calculation of UP PCS Score of Prelims
Aggregate score = (Number of correct answers) – (Number of incorrect answers)
Candidates qualifying the prelims are eligible to appear in the mains exam. The written exam of mains comprises compulsory and optional subjects. The papers will be both conventional and objective type. Total marks allotted for mains exam is 1400. Based on the result of UP PCS 2019, candidates three times the number of vacancies will be selected for the interview. Scaling system will be applicable in the optional subjects of mains examination to declare the result.
After the qualifying the mains result, candidates will be eligible to appear in the interview followed by their final recruitment.
The final result of UPPSC 2019 will be declared on the basis of candidate's performance in the mains examination and interview. The final result of UP PCS 2019 will be calculated out of 1550 (1400 written exam and 150 interviews).
The scaling system is adopted by UPPSC for the optional subjects in view that there is a common base across different subjects. This process brings the performance of candidates in different subjects to a common scale. The formula for scaling system is given below.
Z = Assumed mean + [ (X-M) x Assumed S.D.] SD Z= is the Scaled Score.
X = is the Raw mark.
M = is the mean of Raw Marks of the group/subject.
S.D = is the Standard Deviation of Raw Marks of the group/subject.
(i) Assumed mean will be taken as half of the maximum marks of the group/subject.
(ii) Assumed S.D. will be taken as one-fifth of the assumed mean.
(iii) If the scaled score is less than zero after scaling, then candidates will be allotted zero marks in the said group/subject.
(iv) If the scaled score after scaling is more than maximum marks, then candidates will be allotted maximum marks in the said group/subject.
To be in the merit list there is a criterion set by UPPSC. SC/ST candidates have to score a minimum of 30%. They will not be considered for the merit list if they score less than 30% in the prelims or mains exam. The minimum qualifying marks for other category candidates is 40% in Prelims/Mains exam. Candidates scoring less than the minimum qualifying will be disqualified.
Candidates are required to obtain minimum marks in the compulsory paper of General Hindi.
UPPSC prescribes the minimum qualifying marks, also known as the cut off marks which candidates have to score to qualify the exam and become eligible for the next round of selection process. UPPSC will release the category-wise cutoff for various posts. On the basis of cut off scored by candidates in prelims of UP PCS, candidates will be selected for the mains exam. Likewise, candidates scoring cutoff marks in mains will be shortlisted for an interview. The final cutoff will be decided on the basis of candidates performance in the mains exam and interview. Candidates can check below UPPSC cutoff of previous years’.
UPPSC releases the official answer key 30-45 days after the exam is conducted, although candidates who have appeared in the exam can download the unofficial answer key of UPPCS after the exam is concluded. Using the answer key candidates can check the correct answers of questions asked in the exam which will help them calculate their probable score.
