IBPS SO 2018 – Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the interview call letter for the post of SO on February 14, 2019, in online mode. Candidates can download their IBPS SO 2018 admit card by entering their login credentials in the login window till March 2, 2019. Earlier, IBPS has released the scorecard of mains exam on February 13, 2019. Candidates can check the scorecard of IBPS SO mains exam till February 24, 2019. The result of IBPS SO 2018 was released on February 6, 2019, in online mode. 

IBPS SO 2018 exam was conducted for a total of 1599 vacancies for the Junior Management Officer in IT, Agriculture, Law, HR/Personnel, Marketing and Rajbhasha Adhikari posts in 20 participating banks. The scorecard of IBPS SO preliminary exam was released on January 11. Candidates were able to check their score card till January 27, 2019. To check the scorecard candidates have to login with the roll number/registration id and password/date of birth. 

Candidates who qualified in the preliminary stage of IBPS SO were eligible to appear in the mains exam. Shortlisted candidates in the mains examination will be called for Interview round. IBPS SO interview will be conducted in February 2019. Candidates who qualify all the stages of IBPS SO 2018 will be given provisional allotment in April 2019.

  • This year 1599 vacancies have been announced. The vacancies have gone up by 248 as compared to the last year which was 1351.
  • The exam centres have decreased from 195 to 177 for prelims examination and 56 to 54 for the mains examination.

IBPS SO Admit Card 2018

IBPS has released the IBPS SO interview call letter on February 14, 2019, in online mode. Candidates can download the admit card by entering their required details. Earlier, IBPS had released the mains admit card on January 12 in online mode. The IBPS SO admit card 2018 contains details about the candidate like his/her registration number, father's name, address, etc. and about the exam like date, time, venue, duration, etc. Candidates are required to carry valid photo IDs and their photocopy to the exam hall with the admit card. Producing the admit card of IBPS SO 2018 to the invigilator will ensure entry in the exam hall.

IBPS SO Result 2018

The result of IBPS SO mains exam was released on February 6, 2019. Candidates could check their result by entering their roll number/registration number and date of birth and password. IBPS declares the result of IBPS SO exam separately for every stage (prelims, mains and interview) of the exam and for every Specialist Officer post. Marks obtained in the mains exam and IBPS SO interview decide the final result of IBPS SO. The result of IBPS SO 2018 includes qualification status of the candidates, etc. Qualifying candidates are shortlisted and are given provisional allotment.

IBPS SO Application Form 2018

IBPS had released the application form of IBPS SO 2018  on November 6. Eligible aspirants could apply for IBPS SO 2018 online till November 26. Aspirants had to fill the valid credentials like email id and phone number in order to register. Registration numbers and passwords were generated during the application process which are required in later events of the exam like downloading the admit card of IBPS SO and checking results.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018

IBPS determines the eligibility criteria of IBPS SO 2018. It is essential that the candidates check the eligibility criteria of IBPS SO before applying for it online. IBPS SO eligibility criteria include requirements based on age, nationality, educational qualification, the category of the candidate, etc.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018 – Age

General category candidates willing to appear for IBPS SO 2018 need to be 20 to 30 years of age. Reserved and special category candidates (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, ex-army officials, etc.) get some relaxation on the upper age limit. 

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018 – Nationality/Citizenship

Aspiring candidates must be citizens of India, Bhutan or Nepal. Refugees from Tibet, Indian oigin migrants moved in from some countries with the intention to settle are eligible to appear for the exam given that they produce relevant certificates as proof to the exam conducting body.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018 – Educational Qualification

Educational qualification is different for different posts (IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Marketing Officer, Law Officer, HR Personnel Officer), for instance, a candidate appearing for the post of Law Officer must hold a graduation degree in law (LLB).

IBPS SO Exam Pattern 2018

The exam pattern of IBPS SO 2018 is decided by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. IBPS SO exam pattern 2018 contains important information about the exam like mode of the test, nature of questions, sectional division, marking scheme, etc. IBPS SO exam pattern is different for prelims, mains and interview exam for different posts.

IBPS SO 2018 Exam Pattern - Preliminary Exam

IBPS SO exam pattern 2018 for Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari

  • The prelims exam for these 2 posts will have 3 sections – English Language, Reasoning and General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry
  • Reasoning and General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry will have 50 questions each for 50 marks, while English will have 50 questions for 25 marks
  • For each incorrect answer in all the sections, .25 or -1/4th marks will be deducted 
  • The exam will be held in online mode for 2 hours
  • Except for English, both the other 2 sections will be held in English and Hindi medium

IBPS SO exam pattern 2018 for IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer

  • For the posts of IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer will also have 3 sections, English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. 
  • There will be a total 150 questions for 125 marks in this paper which will be held in online mode. 
  • Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude will be held in both English and Hindi medium while English language paper will be conducted in English medium only
  • Each incorrect answer will carry negative marking of 0.25 or 1/4th of the allotted marks

IBPS SO 2018 Exam Pattern - Mains Examination

  • The mains exam of IBPS SO 2018 for these posts will have one professional knowledge paper of 60 objective type questions to be completed in 45 minutes.
  • The medium of the exam will be available in Hindi and English language

IBPS SO exam pattern 2018 for Rajbhasha Adhikari

  • Candidates applying for the posts of IBPS SO 2018 Rajbhasha Adhikari have to take one professional knowledge objective test carrying 45 questions and one professional knowledge descriptive type carrying 2 questions
  • Candidates will be allotted marks out of total 60 for both the objective and descriptive test taken together
  • Candidates will have 30 minutes for each objective and descriptive test

IBPS SO Syllabus 2018 

IBPS SO syllabus 2018 contains topics based on different sections of the question papers. IBPS SO syllabus 2018 of prelims exam is same for all the candidates appearing for different posts. Candidates appearing for the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari and Law Officer do not have to attempt the Quantitative Aptitude section in the prelims exam and the remaining candidates do not have to take the General Awareness section. Syllabus of IBPS SO for the mains exam is different for all six posts – Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, Agriculture Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, Marketing Officer and IT Officer. Candidates must be thoroughly aware of the syllabus IBPS SO 2018 so that the preparation is focused on the topics that are being covered.

 IBPS SO Question Papers 2018

Sample papers and question papers of IBPS SO are a great means while preparing for the exam. Candidates can solve IBPS SO sample papers and question papers and understand the pattern well by making use of IBPS SO sample papers. Question papers of IBPS SO are not released officially, but many coaching institutes and websites release sample papers, question papers, test series, mock tests, etc. Candidates are advised that they make the practice of sample papers/question papers of IBPS SO a regular affair of their preparation so that they can increase accuracy, problem-solving, time management skills and improve their overall performance.

IBPS SO Cut Off 2018

IBPS SO cut off marks are the minimum marks required to qualify IBPS SO exam. Candidates who acquire marks equal to or more than the IBPS SO cut off marks are considered qualified and are shortlisted to be given provisional allotment in participating banks. Cut off of IBPS SO differs section-wise, category-wise and for every post. IBPS SO cut off 2018 will be released by the exam body for every stage of the examination.

To be eligible for IBPS PO, you need to be a graduate in any stream. You should have completed your Graduation in any stream from a recognised University. There is no specific discipline that you should be completing your Graduation in. It can be BA, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Tech, etc. You should have computer proficiency.

It doesn't matter if your minor is marketing in MBA, as long as you have knowledge and skills in the field you can apply for any marketing related jobs. So you need not hesitate to apply for the job. So you are definitely eligible to apply for any marketing and finance jobs as you have both these as your major and minor specialisations.

Hello aspirant,

You are not eligible for ibps so it as you don't have an engineering degree in electronics and telecommunication. A 3 year graduate degree in the same won't help. Also you don't have your pg in the required field. Candidates willing to apply for the above-mentioned posts must have the graduate degree or post-graduate degree in the relevant field. The aspirants must have completed graduation or post-graduation in the IT related fields. For the IT officer candidate should have a qualification in one of the following field:
