IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018 : Institute of Banking Personnel Selection prescribes the IBPS SO 2018 eligibility criteria. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of IBPS SO and ensure they fulfill each of them to be eligible for participation in the recruitment to the post of Specialist Officer for prelims and mains exam.
IBPS has prescribed the eligibility criteria of IBPS SO based on
Educational Qualifications and
Age of the candidate.
Only those candidates who will meet this IBPS SO 2018 eligibility criteria will be able to appear for the the exam.
1.) IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018 : Nationality/Citizenship of the candidate
A candidate must be a citizen of India or Bhutan or Nepal
In case of the refugee from Tibet, he must be a migrant to India before January 1, 1962 with an intention of settling in the country permanently.
Indian origins who are migrant from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Uganda, East African countries of Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Vietnam and Ethiopia with an intention of settling in India permanently.
Note: Candidates have to produce all the relevant documents in support of their identity and eligibility as mentioned in online IBPS SO 2018 application form during verification.
2.) IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018 : Age Limit
To fulfill the eligibility criteria of IBPS SO 2018, a candidate must not be less than 20 years of age and not more than 30 years of age. A candidate must have been born not earlier than November 2, 1987 and not later than November 1, 1997. This is applicable to the general category candidate.

b) The candidate must have a Post Graduate Degree in Electronics/ Electronics & Tele Communication/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Computer
Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications
The candidate must be a graduate having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level
Agricultural Field Officer (Scale)
The candidate must have a four year Degree (graduation) in Agriculture/Animal Husbandry//Veterinary Science/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/Agri/ Dairy Science
Marketing & Cooperation/ Co-operation & Banking/Agro-Forestry/Forestry/
Horticulture/Agricultural Biotechnology/ Food Science/ Agriculture Business Management/Food Technology/ Dairy Technology/ Agricultural Engineering
Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I)
Candidate must be a post graduate in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the
degree (graduation) level.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018 for PWD candidates
Candidates belonging to the PWD category have to fulfill the eligibility conditions as prescribed by IBPS. Only those persons would be eligible for reservation who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability and are certified by a Medical Board constituted by the Central/State Government. Candidates with the following disabilities are eligible to apply
Visually Impaired (VI) - Visually Impaired candidates suffering from not less than 40% of disability can choose to view the contents of the exam in magnified fonts. All such candidates will be given 20 minutes for every hour as compensatory time. and all such candidates will be eligible for compensatory time.
Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI)
Locomotor disability and cerebral palsy- Candidates under this category will be given 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour.
Important Points on Eligibility Criteria of IBPS SO 2018
Only one of the fields of specialization should be in the field prescribed if the candidate has a dual specialization.
Major specialization should be in the stream prescribed in case of major/minor specializations.
Those candidates will not fulfill the Eligibility Criteria who pertain PG Degree (MMS or MBA)/PG Diploma with more than two specializations.
The above qualifications of the candidate must be from a University, Institution or a Board recognized by the Government Of India or approved by any Government Regulatory Body.
The application of the candidate will be rejected if they apply for more than one post.
IBPS will release the IBPS SO application form in November 2018 for the recruitment of Specialist Officer. The application form of IBPS SO preliminary exam will released in November. Application Form of IBPS SO 2018 can be filled by the eligible candidates in online mode only.
About IBPS SO 2018
IBPS conducts IBPS SO exam for various posts of Specialist Officers (SO) in two stages, prelims and mains. The preliminary exam for IBPS SO 2018 will be held on December 29 and 30, 2018 and IBPS SO mains will be conducted on January 27, 2019. the candidates who will be selected in the IBPS SO Mains Exam will be called for an interview which will be held tentatively in February.
