About TN TRB Assistant Professor 2019

Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board will conduct TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 exam for 186 Assistant Professors/Assistant Professors (pre-law) in government law colleges. To apply for TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018, candidates were required to fill and submit the application form July 23 to August 6, 2018. Registered candidates have to appear in a written test followed by an Interview. Candidates must have completed 40 (45 years for ST/SC/BC/BC(M), MBC, PwD) years of age and should a master’s degree in Law to be eligible for TN TRB recruitment for Assistant Professor (Pre-law) 2018. The exam will consist of a single paper with 175 objective type questions in total for all posts/subjects. The selection process of TN TRB recruitment for Assistant Professor will be on the basis of the marks obtained in the written test and interview marks. Shortlisted candidates in the written test of TN TRB Assistant Professors will have to appear in the Interview consisting of 25 marks. The selected candidates will be on the pay scale between Rs (15,600 to 39,100) with an additional grade pay of Rs 7,000 per month with rationalised entry pay of Rs 68,900 per month.

TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 Eligibility Criteria

TRB has prescribed the eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant Professors / Assistant Professors (pre-law). Candidates have to fulfil the TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 Eligibility Criteria such as age and educational qualifications as mentioned below:

TN TRB Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 40% for General while for ST/SC/BC/BC(M), MBC, PwD the relaxation is 5 years. 

Educational Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a master's degree in Law in the preferred subject for which they have applied

  • Applicants must pass from any recognised University with not less than 55 percent marks and a good academic record. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates must possess not less than 50 percent marks in the relevant subjects

  • Must have qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test.

  • However, candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, as amended 2016 (3rdAmendment) shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET or an accredited Test.

  • It is mandatory for candidates to get enrolled as an advocate in the Bar Council. However, preference shall be given to persons who have actual experience at the Bar or teaching experience.

TN TRB Assistant Professor (Pre- Law)

  • Master degree in Law from any of the universities in the State of Tamil Nadu or equivalent in the respective subjects as specified by the Government

  • 55% of marks in the respective subject and a good academic record. For Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes shall possess not less than 50%

  • PhD degree who have passed their Master's degree in the respective subject prior to the 19th September 1991, shall possess not less than 50 percent of marks in Master degree in law

  • Must have qualified in National Eligibility Test (NET) or an equivalent

  • Also, such candidates must have enrolled as an advocate in the Bar Council

  • Candidates who are pursuing PhD in Law must have their Master's degree in Law prior to the 19th September 1991 with 50% marks in Master degree in law

  • Must have qualified in National Eligibility Test (NET) or an equivalent

  • Also, such candidates must have enrolled as an advocate in the Bar Council

TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 Application Form

The application form of TN TRB recruitment for Assistant Professor was available from July 23 to August 6. The applicants were able to apply for TN TRB Assistant Professor (Pre-Law) for only 2 posts (both assistant professor and assistant professor (pre-law). However, they had to submit a separate application for each post.

TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 Registration: Candidates had to visit TN TRB official website to apply for their preferred post. In the registration, part candidates had to fill all basic details. 

Filling up of basic details: All the particulars mentioned in the online application including the name of the candidate, post applied, communal category, date of birth, address and all other fields were not editable after final submission.

Uploading of Photograph and Signature: Candidates have to upload their scanned copy of photo and signature to their application form.

Application Fees for  TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 exam:  The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.600  (Rs.300 for  SC/SCA/  ST  and Differently Abled candidates) + Bank charges in online mode only.
