About TN TRB Assistant Professor 2019

Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board will conduct the TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018-2019 exam for 2331 Assistant Professors for Government Arts & Science Colleges and Colleges of Education. To apply for TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018-2019, candidates were required to fill and submit the application form from October 04 to October 30, 2019, 05:00 PM. Registered candidates have to appear in a certificate verification followed by an Interview. Candidates should not have completed 57 years as on 01-07-2019 as the age of superannuation is 58 years. The selected candidates will be on the Pay Scale: Rs. 57,700 – 1,82,400 – Level 10.

Scheme of Selection: The Scheme for selection involves ranking and shortlisting of candidates followed by preparation of rank cum communal roster for certificate verification and interview. The candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:3. Marks will be awarded to all candidates based on the certificates uploaded along with the Application Forms as per criteria which has to be confirmed/finalized after due verification by the certificate verification team and also the marks awarded during the time of Interview, as per G.O.Ms.No.412, Higher Education (F2) Department, Dated 07.12.2009, and G.O.(Ms) No.32, Higher Education (F2) Department, Dated 08.03.2013 as follows :


For Teaching experience (Teaching Experience in Universities/ Government / Aided Colleges /under approved posts of Self Financing Colleges / Medical / Engineering / Law Colleges in the relevant subject alone will be considered. (2 marks for each year and subject to a maximum of 15 marks). The candidate teaching experience in the relevant subject alone will be considered)

TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 Eligibility Criteria

TRB has prescribed the eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant Professors / Assistant Professors. Candidates have to fulfil the TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018-2019 Eligibility Criteria such as age and educational qualifications as mentioned below:

TN TRB Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: Candidates should not have completed 57 years as on 01-07-2019 as the age of superannuation is 58 years. 

Educational Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a master's degree in Law in the preferred subject for which they have applied

  • Applicants must pass from any recognised University with not less than 55 percent marks and a good academic record. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates must possess not less than 50 percent marks in the relevant subjects

  • Must have qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test.

  • However, candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, as amended 2016 (3rdAmendment) shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET or an accredited Test.

  • It is mandatory for candidates to get enrolled as an advocate in the Bar Council. However, preference shall be given to persons who have actual experience at the Bar or teaching experience.

The application form of TN TRB recruitment for Assistant Professor is available from October 04 to October 30, 2019, 05:00 PM. The applicants who want to apply for TN TRB Assistant Professor for 2 posts have to submit separate application form for each post.

TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 Registration: Candidates had to visit TN TRB official website to apply for their preferred post. In the registration, part candidates had to fill all basic details. 

Filling up of basic details: All the particulars mentioned in the online application including the name of the candidate, post applied, communal category, date of birth, address and all other fields were not editable after final submission.

Uploading of Photograph and Signature: Candidates have to upload their scanned copy of photo and signature to their application form.

Application Fees for  TN TRB Assistant Professor 2018 exam:  The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.600 (Rs.300 for SC/SCA/ST and Differently Abled candidates) + Bank charges in online mode only.
