UGC NET Exam Centres 2018 – National Testing Agency (NTA) has released UGC NET exam centres 2018 for December session. The list of exam centres of UGC NET 2018 for the December session can be referred by candidates below. The exam will be conducted from December 18 to 22 in 266 UGC NET 2018 exam cities across 36 States and Union Territories of India. Candidates have to select four exam cities of UGC NET 2018 in the order of their preference while filling the application form.

The exam centres of UGC NET 2018 include the list of states and cities with city codes where the test will being conducted. The candidates are allotted UGC NET exam centres 2018 based on the order of exam city preferences made and as per the availability of centres. The admit card of UGC NET 2018 December session is available from November 19 to the respective exam dates. UGC NET 2018 is conducted in two phases to determine the eligibility of Assistant Professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship.

UGC NET 2018 Exam Centres – Important Instructions

  • The candidates are advised to visit their exam centres just a day or two prior to the UGC NET 2018 exam to avoid any confusion on the day of examination.

  • Candidates must carry their UGC NET 2018 admit card and a photo ID to their exam centres. No Candidate will be permitted inside the examination hall without the admit card and a valid photo ID.

  • The exam will be held in two sessions.

  • For both the sessions, candidates need to carry one passport size photograph.

  • Entry to UGC NET 2018 examination centres for the first shift will begin at 7:30 am.

  • Time of entry in the examination centres for the second shift is 12:00 pm.

  • Candidates are advised not to carry things like mobile phones, other gadgets, study material, chits, etc. Possession of things like these can lead to the cancellation of their candidature.


Exam Pattern of UGC NET 2018

As per the exam pattern of UGC NET 2018 specified in the official notification, there are two papers for the exam. Both the papers will be conducted online. The question papers are bilingual. Paper-I is designed to test the candidate on his/her teaching ability and research skills. One hour is given to attempt Paper-I. It has 50 questions of two marks each making a total of 100 marks. The time duration for Paper-II is two hours. Paper-II contains 100 questions based on the subjects that the candidates choose. Each question carries 2 marks. Total marks for this paper are 200.

Ques. What if my preferred exam centre has no seats available?

Ans. In case this happens, candidates will be allotted exam centres in cities they've filled in the application form as second, third and fourth choices.

Ques. How many exam centres of UGC NET 2018 are there in the state of Uttar Pradesh?

Ans. In Uttar Pradesh, UGC NET 2018 will be held in various exam centres in 18 cities (Agra, Aligarh, Allahabad, Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Faizabad, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Greater Noida/Noida, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mathura, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Sitapur and Varanasi).

Ques. Is it mandatory to fill the exam centre choices while filling the application form of UGC NET?

Ans. Yes, candidates are required to fill 4 exam centre choices while filling the UGC NET application form or else they will be allotted any exam centre by the examination authority in the nearest city as per their discretion, which may not be convenient for the candidates to reach.
