UGC NET Result 2017 – The result of UGC NET 2017 January session has been declared on May 29. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared UGC NET 2017 result only for those candidates who have secured qualifying in all the three papers. To check CBSE UGC NET Result 2017 candidates have to login with their application number, roll number and date of birth. Only those candidates who secure cut off score as per their category are considered eligible for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant/Associate Professorship or both. The eligibility for JRF or Assistant/Associate Professorship is decided strictly on the basis of candidates’ score and their rank in merit position. Based on the UGC NET result 2017, only top 15% candidates (for each subject and category) will be considered for Assistant Professor only. What is UGC NET E-certificate and how to download it?
University Grants Commission issues certificate to all candidates who have qualified UGC NET. The UGC NET E-certificate is a documentary proof available online and can be downloaded by candidates who have qualified UGC NET. The e-certificate is available for downloading on the user profile created by the candidates while filling and submitting their online application forms. The UGC NET e-certificate is equivalent to original certificate.
What is the procedure & criteria for UGC NET 2017 Result?
The examination authority will adopt following criteria while preparing result of UGC NET 2017.
Candidates have to score cut off score in exam paper as per their category to qualify UGC NET. The result of only those candidates has been processed who secure UGC NET cut off score in all three papers. The minimum marks to be obtained in UGC NET for considering a candidate for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor is given below.
Step I -
UGC NET Cut off
Paper I - Out of 100 marks
Paper II - Out of 100 marks
Paper III - Out of 150 marks
40 (40%) out of total of 100 marks
OBC (Non-creamy layer) PWD/SC/ST
Step II – Preparation of merit list based on cut off score
Those candidates who have cleared step I, a separate merit list will be prepared based on aggregate marks of all the three papers. There will be separate merit list based for subject -wise and category-wise
Step III – UGC NET result for Assistant Professor
Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared UGC NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only
Step IV – UGC NET result for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
A separate merit list for JRF will be prepared from the UGC NET qualified candidates prepared under step III

What to do after declaration of CBSE UGC NET Result?
After qualifying the CBSE UGC NET one can apply for posts of assistant professor in higher level educational institutions. They will be eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation
Universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations select the JRF candidates for research programmes as per the procedure prescribed by selection council
Candidates who qualify the Test for eligibility for Assistant Professor will be appointed as per the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities/ colleges/state governments
