Candidates are recommended to go through the CSIR NET eligibility criteria 2026 before filling the application form. Applications whose CSIR NET eligibility is not met are rejected. The CSIR NET 2026 eligibility criteria are the minimum requirements a candidate must meet to appear in the exam. CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2026
Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
Age: The age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 30 years. However, a 5 year duration of age relaxation is provided for reserved category candidates. However there is no upper age limit for candidates applying under Assistant professor and PhD programs.
Educational qualification: Candidates with a bachelors or masters degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate score (General), and 50% (SC/ST/PwD) candidates.
