SSC CGL 2025 Exam - Tier 1 Result (Out), Cutoff (Released), Merit List

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL tier 1 final answer key 2025 on January 9, 2026 on the official website at ssc.gov.in. Earlier, the SSC released the provisional SSC CGL answer key in online mode at ssc.gov.in. Candidates were able to challenge the SSC CGL answer key 2025 until October 21, 2025. The final SSC CGL 2025  tier 1 answer key will be released along with the result.

Along with the SSC CGL 2025 answer key, SSC will also release the response sheet. With the help of the answer key, candidates can cross-verify the answer that they have provided in the SSC CGL exam 2025 with that given in the answer key through which they can calculate their probable score in both tiers.

• A new PDF will open, which will consist of all the details related to the SSC CGL

Candidates can download the answer key by logging into the website using roll number, date of birth, and exam dates. The Staff Selection Commission provides the facility to raise objections in the answer key by making an online payment of Rs. 100 for each objection. 

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) provides the post-wise eligibility details for SSC CGL exam 2025. The eligibility criteria include details like nationality, age limit, educational qualification etc. Candidates must check the detailed eligibility criteria before applying for SSC CGL 2025 exam.

Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India or subject of Nepal/ Bhutan, Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1963 with the intention of permanently settling in India, person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit: To apply for SSC CGL 2025 exam, candidates must be in between 18 and 32 years of age However, age requirements will differ as per posts and the candidate's caste category for SSC CGL.

Educational Qualification: The candidate must have the required educational qualification prescribed by the commission.

SSC CGL exam 2025:  Eligibility for Assistant Audit Officer

• Essential Qualification: Candidates must be graduate in any subject from a recognized University

• Desirable Qualification: CA/ CS/ MBA/ Cost and Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/ Masters in Business Studies

SSC CGL exam 2025: Eligibility for Junior Statistical Officer

Candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer must have any of the required educational qualifications. 

•  Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics in Class 12

•  Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.

All Other Posts

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent.

• Candidates must be physically fit as per the Physical Standards if they are applying for the post of Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), and Sub-Inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency).

Candidates who wish to make changes in their application form can do so through the SSC CGL applciation correction window from Juy 9 to 11, 2025.  The commission activated the SSC CGL 2025 application form on June 9, 2025 on their official website. Candidates were able to apply for the SSC CGL exam until July 4, 2025. The application process of the SSC CGL 2025 exam can not be completed without paying the SSC CGL 2025 exam fees. 

Candidates need to enter their personal details, academic details, and contact details along with the scanned photograph and signature to complete the application process of SSC CGL 2025. The SSC CGL 2025 application fee for general and OBC candidates is Rs. 100 while women, SC, ST, PWD category candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Candidates were able to pay the fee both online and offline.

SSC CGL 2025 Registration Process:

Steps to register for SSC CGL 2025

Applicants applying for the SSC CGL exam need to follow the steps mentioned below for the registration and application process for reference purpose only:

Part 1 - SSC CGL 2025: One Time Registration - Fill in all required basic, additional & contact details including name, parent’s name, E-mail, Aadhaar, date of birth, gender, class 10 Board roll number and year of passing, etc. After successful registration, the registration ID and password will be generated for the SSC CGL exam.

Part 2 – 

1. Upload photograph and signature: Login to the SSC CGL exam portal by using the registration ID and password. Candidates need to upload the photo and signature in the specified format. 

2. SSC CGL exam: Online Form:  Fill in all necessary details which include educational/academic details, address details, choosing exam centre preferences to complete the online form of SSC CGL 2025.

3. Payment of SSC CGL examination fees: After filling all the details and uploading documents in SSC CGL examination form candidates need to pay the exam fee of SSC CGL 2025. The fee can be paid through online mode or by e-challan. 

4. Submission of application form: Finally, candidates must submit the filled-in application form after successful verification. Take a printout of the online form of SSC CGL 2025. Candidates need to present the xerox copy of the application form during the SSC CGL 2025 document verification round.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) prescribes the exam pattern of SSC CGL along with the release of the official brochure. The exam pattern mentions a number of sections, marking scheme, weightage of topics, mode and duration of exam, and a number of questions. Marking Scheme of Tier I

The examination authority has only mentioned the negative marks in the notification of SSC CGL which is 0.5 marks. However, based on the number of questions and total marks, it can be surmised that for correct answers candidates will score 2 marks. Candidates will not get any marks for unattempted questions. If candidates select more than one correct answer then it will be considered as incorrect and marks will be deducted for such questions.

SSC CGL Tier-II exam is held in online mode and comprises three papers – Paper 1, 2, and 3. According to the SSC CGL exam pattern, Paper 1 consists of three sections, and each section has two modules. 

• Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III in separate shifts, days.
• Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts.
• Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.
• Paper-III will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-III i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
• Section-III of Paper-I i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature.
• Tier-II (Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III) will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module-II of Section-III of Paper-I. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Language And Comprehension module in Section-II of Paper-I.
• There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL admit card 2025 at ssc.gov.in. What Not to Carry On the Day of the SSC CGL Exam?

On the day of the SSC CGL exam day, candidates are not allowed to carry with them the following items.

• Any kind of electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, pager, pen drives, earphone, microphone etc

• The rough paper will be provided so no stationary items are allowed 

• Candidates must not carry any eatables to the SSC CGL exam centre. 

The commission released the SSC CGL result 2025 on December 18, 2025 in online mode on the official website. Candidates who appeared in the SSC CGL exam can download the result in PDF format. SSC declares the result in three stages – Tier I, II, and final. Candidates are selected for SSC CGL Tier II on the basis of Tier I result. The final result is released after the SSC CGL exam for Tier II is conducted. 

The merit list is prepared based on the overall performance of candidates in Tier I, and II of the SSC CGL examination. The roll numbers and names of candidates printed on the merit list will be recruited based on the preferences of posts.

The SSC CGL cut off 2025 has been released by SSC along with the declaration of the result on the official website at ssc.gov.in. Candidates need to score the minimum qualifying marks as well as overall marks to be eligible for each stage of the selection process.

SSC CGL Cut Off - Tier I

The  of SSC CGL cutoff Tier I 2025 will be released along with the result. The cutoff of Tier I was prepared based on the performance of candidates. On the basis of the Tier I SSC CGL cutoff, candidates are shortlisted for Tier II exam. Candidates must secure equal to or more than the cutoff of SSC CGL Tier I to be selected for Tier II. Staff Selection Commission might determine qualifying cutoff marks for each section of Tier I.

SSC CGL Cut Off - Tier II

Based on the SSC CGL cut off marks scored in Tier-I i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates are shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination. Separate SSC CGL cut off marks will be fixed for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer), Paper-III of Tier-II (i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).

Qualifying Marks for Tier I & II

Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I and Section-I, Section-II & Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II and Paper-II & Paper-III of Tier-II Examination are as follows:

The Staff Selection Commission specified the SSC CGL 2025 selection process in the notification. Candidates are selected for the various posts based on their performance in all the tiers of the SSC CGL exam. As per the selection process, candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks at each stage will be shortlisted for the SSC CGL 2025 final allotment.

Candidates are selected for Tier II based on the marks of Tier I of the SSC CGL examination. The final result will be declared after the conduct of Tier II.
