The RRB JE CBT 1 is a qualifying examination, conducted for a total of 100 marks. The CBT 1 exam consists of 100 questions covering multiple subjects, which must be answered within 90 minutes. There is a negative marking of ⅓ marks for each incorrect answer. Candidates must score 40 % marks to clear CBT 1 and qualify for CBT 2. The RRB JE CBT 1 result will not be considered for the final merit.
The RRB JE CBT 2 exam is the final, merit-deciding stage for the Junior Engineer Recruitment. The CBT 2 features 150 objective-type questions, constituting 150 marks, to be completed in 120 minutes. Each incorrect answer attempted will result in a loss of ⅓ marks. Applicants who qualified for the CBT 2 will be called for the RRB JE document verification.
The final result of the RRB JE exam will be based on candidates' performance in the CBT 2. The final merit list will be released, containing the roll numbers of selected candidates along with the RRB JE cutoff 2026. Candidates will be inducted into the service based on the final RRB JE result.
