Candidates will find the below given details on the RPM 2020 notification.
Along with the RPF Notification 2020, candidates will be able to access the online application form. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill the application form in online mode The complete application process will be described in the notification. They will also have to pay the application fee to validate their candidature and successfully complete the registration process. While filling the application form, candidates will have to add their basic details like name, father's name, academic qualification, upload their scanned photograph and documents wherever necessary, choose the railway zone etc.
The eligibility criteria is prescribed by the Ministry of Railways in the RPF notification 2020. The eligibility criteria consist of nationality, academic qualification and age limit of the candidates. As per the academic qualification, candidates who are applying for SI must be graduate while those applying for Constable must have passed 10th class. The age limit for Constable is 18-25 years while that for SI is 20-25 years. Apart from the academic qualification and age limit, candidates must also meet the physical requirements. The physical requirements differ for SI and Constable and for Male and Female candidates both.
Candidate’s who successfully fill the application form will be issued the admit card. The admit card will have to be downloaded by candidates before the exam. It will consist of important details like name of the candidate, registration number, roll number, exam centre details etc. Candidates will have to carry the admit card to the exam centre on the day of the exam along with a valid ID proof like - Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License etc. If they fail to carry it, they won't be able to appear for the exam.
The RPF 2020 notification will also have the exam pattern mentioned in it. The exam pattern consists of the mode of the exam, the number of questions asked in the exam, sections on which the question paper will be based and the marking scheme as well as the time duration of the exam. According to the RPF exam pattern, the computer-based test (CBT) will have 120 questions and the time duration will be 90 minutes. Total marks allotted for CBT will be 120. The questions will be based on topics - General Awareness, Arithmetic and General Intelligence and Reasoning. 1 mark will be allotted per correct answer and 1/3 marks will be deducted as negative marks. There is no difference in the exam pattern for Constable and Sub-Inspector posts.
The syllabus will be mentioned in notification of RPF 2020. The syllabus consists of the topics and sub-topics on which the exam question paper will be based. The difficulty level of question papers of Constable will be based on class 10 while that of SI will be graduation level. The question paper of CBT for both SI as well as Constable will be based on General Awareness, Arithmetic and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The topics in General Awareness will be related to Indian History, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, General Science etc. The questions in the Arithmetic section will have questions on fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, profit and loss, discount, use of table and graphs, ratio and proportion, averages, number systems, whole numbers, decimal and fractions and relationships between numbers, interest, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and proportion. The last section of General Intelligence & reasoning will have questions from visualization, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, spatial orientation, problem-solving analysis, analogies, similarities and differences, spatial judgement, decision making, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.
As per the selection process mentioned in the RPF notification 2020, the exam is conducted in 3 stages. The first stage is Computer Based Test (CBT), Second stage of PET/PMT (Physical Entrance Test, Pre-Medical Test) and the Document Verification (DV). Qualifying each stage will be mandatory for candidates. To reach the second stage of the selection process of RPF candidates will have to score the minimum cut off marks in the CBT stage. Candidates will be recruited to the vacant positions after they fulfil the medical conditions.
