The score of candidates of CBT is calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. To calculate the score of candidates, the examination authority follows the marking scheme. The marking scheme has been prescribed by the Ministry of Railways. The process of calculation of score is explained below.
The test carries total of 120 marks
For correct answer, candidates will score 1 mark
There is negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer
Total score = Number of correct answer X 1 – Number of incorrect answer X 1/3
The category-wise qualifying marks of RPF Constable recruitment has been announced along with the notification. To qualify the exam, candidates are required the qualifying marks as per their category. The qualifying cut off of RPF Constable is 35% for general and OBC category while that for SC and ST candidates it is 30%.
The examination authority might adopt the normalisation procedure to calculate the scores of candidates. The normalisation procedure is followed when the exam is held in multiple days and sessions. RPF Constable exam will be conducted in multiple sessions therefore, there is a possibility that the normalisation process will be followed while calculating the scores. RPF Constable result will be declared based on the normalised scores.
Based on the merit of candidates in CBT, candidates are called for PET and PMT. The PET & PMT is qualifying in nature and no marks will be awarded to candidates in this test. On the basis of the performance in CBT, subject to their qualifying PET and PMT, candidates will be selected for document verification. Appointment of candidates will be done provided they pass the requisite medical fitness test.
The cut off of RPF for CBT will be announced by the Ministry of Railways. It is the minimum qualifying marks that candidates will have to score to qualify the exam and become eligible for next round of selection process i.e PET and PMT. Besides the qualifying marks, candidates will also have to secure the overall RPF Constable cut off as per their category for selection. The overall cut off is calculated out of the total marks.
