AFCAT 2019 - Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the result of AFCAT 2019 on September 17, 2019. Qualified candidates will have to appear for AFSB Interview which is slated to be held from October 21, 2019. Candidates can select their prefered date and venue for the Interview from Sepetmber 17 to 22, 2019. AFCAT 2019 (II) online test was conducted on August 24 and 25. IAF has announced a total of 242 vacancies for AFCAT (II) exam. Only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be able to fill the application form for appearing in AFCAT 2019 exam.

The authority is conducting AFCAT 2019 exam to recruit the candidates at the Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC)/Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. The test of AFCAT (II) will be held in three stages – online test, AFSB Interview, and medical test. Candidates who qualify in all the three stages of the selection process will be considered qualified. The recruited candidates will be paid a remuneration of Rs. 56100 - 110700.

The exam conducting authority has released the application form of AFCAT 2019 on June 1, 2019. Candidates will be able to fill the application form in online mode till June 30, 2019. Along with the filling of AFCAT 2019 application form, candidates will also have to pay the application fee of Rs 250. The application fee will have to be paid in online mode. It must be remembered that the application form will not be accepted by examination authority without the payment of the application fees.
To fill the application form, candidates must follow the steps mentioned below:

The examination authority has determined the eligibility criteria of AFCAT 2019 for all those candidates who wish to appear in the exam. AFCAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria on the basis of Nationality
A candidate applying for AFCAT (II) 2019 must be a citizen of India.
Eligibility Criteria of AFCAT 2019 on the basis of Age
Candidates applying for Flying branch must be between 20 and 24 years of age whereas those who will apply for the Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branch candidates must be 20 to 26 years of age as on July 1, 2020.
AFCAT (II) 2019 Eligibility Criteria on the basis of Marital Status
Candidates not more than 25 years of age must be unmarried during the time of commencement of course. Also, candidates below 25 years who are widows, widowers, and divorcees are ineligible to apply for the exam. However, candidates for more than 25 years who are married can apply for the exam.
AFCAT (II) 2019 Eligibility Criteria on the basis of Education Qualification
In order to appear in the AFCAT 2019 examination, candidates must pertain certain education qualification. The table below contains the educational requirement of the candidates for AFCAT (II) 2019 exam as per the posts.
10+2: 60% each in Maths and Physics
Graduation: 60% aggregate in any discipline
BE/B. Tech degree with a minimum of 60%
Clear Section A and B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers/Aeronautical Society of India with minimum 60%
Ground Duty (Technical)
10+2: minimum 60% in Physics and Maths
Graduation: minimum 4 years degree graduation/ integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University
Cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India)/ Aeronautical Society of India/ Graduate membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with minimum 60%
Ground Duty (Non-Technical)
Administration and Logistics: Graduate degree (any) with minimum 60% or equivalent
Clear section A and B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India)/Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Accounts: B.Com degree from recognized university with minimum 60%
The exam pattern of AFCAT is prescribed by the examination authority. Candidates must know AFCAT (II) exam pattern to get acquainted with the sections from where the questions can be asked in the exam, mode of exam, total questions that will be asked, total marks, and duration of the exam. As per the exam pattern, AFCAT 2019 exam will contain a total of 100 objective type questions from six sections - General Awareness, Verbal Ability, English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude. Candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the test. For those candidates who will apply for the Ground Duty (Technical) Branch will have to appear for Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) for 50 marks wherein questions from Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical and Electronic will be asked. The online test will be held for a total of 300 arks while EKT will be held for a total of 150 marks.

The exam centres of AFCAT are the venues where the exam will be held. AFCAT 2019 exam is expected to be held at various centres across 104 cities of India. Candidates will be able to select exam centres of their choice while filling the application form. In the application form, candidates can fill about 5 exam centres of their own preference. The allotment of the exam centre will be intimated to the candidates through the admit card.
The admit card of AFCAT (II) will be issued in July 2019 in online mode. Only those candidates will be able to download their admit card, who will fill the application form successfully. To download the admit card of AFCAT 2019, candidate will have to use their login credentials - username and password. The admit card of AFCAT (II) will also be sent to the candidates on their registered email IDs. However, no admit card will be sent to the candidates by post. The admit card of AFCAT is released in two stages – online test and AFSB interview. Candidates qualifying the online test will be issued admit card for AFSB Interview.
The exam conducting body does not release the answer key of AFCAT 2019 soon after the conclusion of the examination. However, there are various coaching institutes who will publish the memory-based answer key for all sets of the question papers. AFCAT 2019 answer key will contain the correct answers to questions asked in the exam. By going through the answer key of AFCAT (II), candidates will be able to evaluate their probable score in the exam and predict their chances to qualify.
IAF announces the result of AFCAT 2019 after the exam is conducted. The result will be announced in three stages - online test, AFSB Interview, and final result. The result is announced in online mode. All those candidates who qualify in the online test will be called for the interview. Taking the aggregate marks scored by the candidates in the online test and AFSB interview, the authority will announce the final merit list.
The cut off of AFCAT (II) 2019 will be determined by IAF in order to shortlist candidates for subsequent stages of the section process. AFCAT cut off is the minimum marks that candidates must obtain to be selected for the next stage of the exam. AFCAT 2019 cut off will be published in three stages – online test, AFSB Interview and final cut off. Based on the cut off of the online exam, candidates will be shortlisted to appear for AFSB Interview. After the interview, the body will prepare a list of candidates to appear for the medical test. After the medical exam, IAF will prepare the final cut off to select candidates for Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission under various branches of AFCAT.

AFCAT has a general syllabus which also contains sections of GK and English for which i would suggest you to follow the newspaper regularly and familiarise with the current happening in the country, i would also suggest you to go through previous year question papers for analysing the type of questions asked and the difficulty level of the same . Market if flooded with books for preparation of AFCAT and i would suggest you to buy AFCAT preparation book by Arihant Publishers.
You can give AFCAT examination conducted twice a year for the Flying officer in Indian Air Force if you have a technical background that is BTECH/BE. The exam is conducted in August(AFCAT-2) and January(AFCAT-1). The form is available a month prior to the exam.
The AFCAT has GK, VERBAL, MATHEMATICS(QUANTITATIVE) and REASONING(LOGICAL). Students who clear the cutoff are required to clear the SSB.
