IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has determined the selection procedure of IBPS SO for the recruitment of candidates in its Specialist Officer cadre. As per the IBPS SO selection procedure 2018 , the exam is conducted in three phases - prelims, mains, and interview. Candidates must go through the selection procedure of IBPS SO to understand the recruitment procedure. As per IBPS SO selection procedure 2018, the prelims exam was conducted on December 29 and 30. The next stage in the selection procedure of IBPS SO 2018 is the mains exam followed by interview scheduled to be conducted on January 27 and February 2018 respectively. Candidates must pass each stage of IBPS SO selection 2018 in order to qualify the recruitment examination.

IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Stages

The exam of IBPS SO is conducted in the following three phases:


  • IBPS SO prelims exam

  • IBPS SO mains exam 

  • IBPS SO Interview


 IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Preliminary 

The preliminary exam is the first stage in the selection procedure of IBPS SO 2018. Candidates who filled the application form successfully were able to appear in the preliminary exam. As per IBPS SO selection procedure 2018, the prelims exam was conducted on December 29 and 30. Candidates must qualify in the prelims exam to appear in the mains exam of IBPS SO 2018. The prelims exam of IBPS SO will be conducted for the post of Law Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer.


 IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Prelims exam pattern

  • The prelims exam of IBPS SO 2018 contained a total of 150 questions from three sections - English Language, Reasoning and General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry. 

  • Each section contained 50 questions each. 

  • The exam was conducted for a total of 125 marks for which candidates will be given 120 minutes. 

  • To qualify IBPS SO 2018 prelims exam, candidates must score category-wise minimum cut off marks determined by the examination authority. 

  • All those candidates who qualify in the prelims exam of IBPS SO will have to further appear for the next stage of the selection procedure - mains exam. 

  • It must be remembered by the candidates that the prelims exam of IBPS SO is of qualifying in nature only and the marks obtained by the candidates will not be considered while preparing the final list. 


 IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Mains

The second stage in the selection procedure of IBPS SO 2018 is the mains exam. Only those candidates will be able to appear for the mains exam of IBPS SO who will qualify the prelims. According to the IBPS SO selection procedure 2018, the mains exam will be conducted to test the professional knowledge of the candidates.

 

IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Mains exam pattern


  • Mains exam of IBPS SO will be held in online mode for a total of 60 objective questions of 1 mark each.

  • For the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari, the examination authority will conduct both objective and descriptive test consisting of 45 questions and 2 questions respectively.

  • The mains exam of IBPS SO for the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari will be held for a total of 60 marks for which the candidates will be given 60 minutes. 

To qualify the mains examination, candidates must score the category-wise cut off marks determined by the examination authority. Along with scoring the minimum cut off marks, candidates must also secure sufficiently high scores to be considered for being shortlisted for interview. While preparing the final merit list, the marks obtained by the candidates in the mains exam will be considered.


IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Interview

According to the selection procedure of IBPS SO, all those candidates who qualify in the mains exam will have to appear in the interview. The interview will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. Candidates must score at least 40% in order to qualify in the interview (35% marks in case of reserved category). The weightage given to the marks of the Mains exam and Interview will be 80:20 respectively. The final score of IBPS SO 2018 exam will be calculated on the basis of total score obtained by the candidates in online mains exam and Interview


IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Documents Verification

Documents verification is an important stage in the selection process of IBPS SO 2018. Candidates appearing for the interview must carry the prescribed documents for verification. Once the verification is done, candidates will be shortlisted for the provisional allotment.


IBPS SO Selection Procedure 2018 - Provisional Allotment

Candidates will be provided provisional allotment based on the merit-cum-preference basis. As per IBPS SO selection procedure 2018, the provisional allotment will be done on the basis of vacancies announced by the Participating Organizations.

To be eligible for IBPS PO, you need to be a graduate in any stream. You should have completed your Graduation in any stream from a recognised University. There is no specific discipline that you should be completing your Graduation in. It can be BA, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Tech, etc. You should have computer proficiency.

  • OBC has 3 years relaxation

  • PWD candidates have 10 yrs relaxation

Hello Aspirant,

It doesn't matter if your minor is marketing in MBA, as long as you have knowledge and skills in the field you can apply for any marketing related jobs. So you need not hesitate to apply for the job. So you are definitely eligible to apply for any marketing and finance jobs as you have both these as your major and minor specialisations.

Hello aspirant,

You are not eligible for ibps so it as you don't have an engineering degree in electronics and telecommunication. A 3 year graduate degree in the same won't help. Also you don't have your pg in the required field. Candidates willing to apply for the above-mentioned posts must have the graduate degree or post-graduate degree in the relevant field. The aspirants must have completed graduation or post-graduation in the IT related fields. For the IT officer candidate should have a qualification in one of the following field:

4-year Engineering Degree in:

  • Computer Applications
  • Information Technology
  • Electronics
  • Electronics & Telecommunications
  • Electronics & Communication
  • Electronics & Instrumentation
