There are three stages of RBI Assistant recruitment examination - prelims exam, mains exam and language proficiency test. In the prelims exam candidates have to take 100 questions from 3 different sections. Candidates are given one hour to attempt RBI Assistant prelims question paper. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam are called to appear for The mains exam of RBI Assistant consists of 5 sections and a total of 200 questions. Candidates have to complete the mains exam in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Qualifying candidates of the mains exam will be eligible to appear for language proficiency test in which candidates will be tested based on their knowledge of official/local language of the state from which they have applied.

Candidates will be given 1 mark for each correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. However, no marks will be calculated for unattempted questions.
The exam body releases the syllabus of RBI Assistant exam in the official notification. RBI Assistant syllabus is prescribed for all the sections of the prelims and mains exam. Candidates must check the syllabus before starting preparations for the exam so that they don’t miss out on any of the topics. RBI Assistant syllabus is prescribed for sections of English language, reasoning ability and numerical ability for the prelims exam. For mains, syllabus is prescribed for English, reasoning, numerical ability, general awareness and computer knowledge. Candidates are given a composite time of 1 hour to attempt all the sections of the prelims exam but for the mains exam of RBI Assistant, candidates have to attempt each section in the allotted time only.

We can expect the notification for RBI assistant by the end of December. As RBI Grade B exams are done, we can hope RBI will come up with assistant notification. I suggest you to start preparing well for the examination, so you can clear it in one go. Dedicate at least 5-6 hours daily for your preparation. Practice mocks as much as you can. For RBI Assistant Exam, you need to be between 20 to 28 years of age pls should be a graduate in any discipline with 50% marks. For reserved categories (SC/ST/PWD candidates), they just need to pass graduation in any discipline. Knowledge of word processing on PC is required too.
Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

Time management: In prelim exam your target is to get more marks in less time as the questions are comparatively easy. If you are good at English you can score more in less time.
