RBI releases the RBI Assistant eligibility criteria 2025 in the official notification. RBI strictly checks if the candidates applied for the role have complied with all the RBI Assistant eligibility criteria. Nationality - a candidate must be either,

  • A citizen of India, (or)

  • A subject of Nepal, (or)

  • A subject of Bhutan, (or)

  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, (or)

  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age limit - Candidates applying for the exam must be between the age 20 and 28. There is an upper age relaxation for certain categories.

  • A candidate belonging to the Ex-servicemen category should either be a graduate from a recognized university or have a matriculation or equivalent exam from Armed Forces with at least 15 years of defence service.

Candidates must have a basic computer knowledge and must have a proficiency in Hindi or the official language of the state.

For SC/ST- 5 years age relaxation

RBI Assistant exam is conducted every year by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to recruit eligible candidates for different sub-offices and branches of the bank.

Candidates age must be between 20 and 28 years,for sc it is 33 and for obc category of it is 31 years.

To appear for RBI Assistant Examination you should have completed your graduation degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

This is the basic educational eligibility criteria but candidates who are in the final semester/year of the graduation can also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for an interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination on or before the date of release of RBI Assistant Notification.
