RBI releases the RBI Assistant eligibility criteria 2025 in the official notification. RBI strictly checks if the candidates applied for the role have complied with all the RBI Assistant eligibility criteria. Nationality - a candidate must be either,
A citizen of India, (or)
A subject of Nepal, (or)
A subject of Bhutan, (or)
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, (or)
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age limit - Candidates applying for the exam must be between the age 20 and 28. There is an upper age relaxation for certain categories.

Educational qualification -
a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Passing marks for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories.
A candidate belonging to the Ex-servicemen category should either be a graduate from a recognized university or have a matriculation or equivalent exam from Armed Forces with at least 15 years of defence service.
Candidates must have a basic computer knowledge and must have a proficiency in Hindi or the official language of the state.

The RBI Assistant Exam pattern 2025 consists of 3 stages. Prelims, Mains and a Language proficiency test. Candidates who qualify the Prelims exam will be able to give the Mains exam. The mode of both the exams is online.
The preliminary exam consists of 3 sections (Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, English Language) . There will be a total of 100 questions for a duration of 60 minutes. Each question carries 1 mark with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.

The Mains exam pattern consists of 5 sections (Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Computer Knowledge, and General Awareness). There will be a total of 200 questions for a duration of 135 minutes. Each question carries 1 mark with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for incorrect answers.
