SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2020 Highlights
Applicants other than Indian citizens are allowed to apply for the JHT exam.
The minimum education qualification required to apply for the exam is a postgraduate degree.
The maximum age limit to apply for SSC Junior Hindi Translator eligibility should note be more than 30 years. Though age relaxation is permissible for reserved categories candidates.
SSC JHT 2020 Eligibility Criteria - Nationality
As per the eligibility criteria of SSC JHT 2020, applicants must be either:
a citizen of India, or
a subject of Bhutan, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a Tibetan refugee who had moved to India, before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
Any person of Indian origin who has either migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates who came from any of the above-mentioned countries must produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

SSC JHT 2020 Education for Senior Hindi Translator
Candidates possessing a master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as exam medium at the degree level; Or
All the applicants should obtain a post-graduate degree from a recognized University in English and Hindi language as either compulsory or elective subject Or
Aspirants have to possess the post-graduation degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or optional subject or an exam medium; Or
You should hold a master’s degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or optional subject or as an exam medium Or
Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as an exam medium and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level

Along with this, you should also possess the recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English language & vice versa or 3 years of experience of translation work in either Central /State Government Office or Government of India Undertaking.
SSC JHT 2020 Education for Hindi Pradhyapak
Aspirants have to possess the graduation degree in Hindi and English as one of the subjects at degree level either compulsory or optional from any recognized University/ Institute. Or
You have to hold a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus a Master's degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level.
Desirable: Applicants have to possess two years teaching experience of Hindi subject at Senior Secondary level under Central or State Government Institutions.

A. Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official
B. Junior Translator in M/o Railways (Railway Board
C. Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters
D. Junior Translator (JT)/Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)
E. Senior Hindi Translator in various Central
HOWEVER as per the notifications , this is not compulsory to have one english and one hindi in masters degree. candidates who has completed masters course in hindi with english as compulsory subject or have studied in english medium on degree level are eligible to apply. or candidates who has completed masters course in english with hindi as compulsory subject or have studied in hindi medium on degree level are eligible to apply.

The educational qualification depends on the Post code that you want to apply for. For Post codes A to D, you need to have Master's degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or you can also have a Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject. For Post Code E, you need to recognised Diploma or certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice versa. So you need to either study in English medium and have Hindi as a language or vice versa.

The eligibility depends on the post you are applying. For Post A to D you must have Master degree in Hindi with English as compulsory or elective or vice versa or Masters degree in any other subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as compulsory certificate or vice versa and you must have two years experience in translating Hindi to English or vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking and must have recognized diploma or certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa. For post E you need three years experience and recognized diploma or certificate along with Masters degree in Hindi or English. For Post F Bachelor's or Master's in Hindi or English with Hindi or English as compulsory or elective subject.
