HPSC HCS 2020 - The Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) conducts the Haryana Civil Service (HCS) exam to recruit candidates for various Class 1 Gazetted posts like Deputy Superintendent of Police, Excise and Taxation Officer District Food and Supplies Controller etc posts in the state of Haryana. The eligibility criteria of HPSC HCS 2020 consists of three criteria - academic qualification, age limit and physical standards. (The physical standards are for candidates applying for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police D.S.P.) As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must graduate from any stream to apply. According to the age limit, they must fall between 21 years to 42 years. However, there is upper age relaxation given to candidates belonging from reserve categories.
Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria of HPSC HCS 2020 will be able to fill the application form. The application form will have to be filled in online mode only. While filling it, they will have to upload their personal details like Name, DOB, Parents Name, Academic Qualifications, Upload scanned documents and pay the application fee in online mode only.
The admit card of HPSC HCS 2020 will be released in online mode. Candidates who successfully fill the application form will be issued the admit card of HPSC HCS. The admit card is an important document that needs to be carried to the exam centre on the day of the exam along with a valid photo ID like Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License etc. The admit card will have important details like candidate name, roll number, exam centre venue and address, reporting time and exam day guidelines mentioned on it.
The HPSC HCS exam 2020 will be conducted on the exam centres of Haryana as mentioned in the information brochure. While filling the application form of HPSC HCS 2020, candidates will have to choose the exam centre of their choice. The exam centre will be mentioned in the admit card of candidates.
As per the exam pattern, the preliminary exam consists of two papers of General Studies. While the mains exam consists of 5 papers out of which 3 are compulsory while 2 are optional subjects. The HPSC HCS preliminary exam is of 200 marks and the time duration is 2 hours while the mains exam is of 3 hours per paper. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 per question in the preliminary exam. According to the syllabus, the questions in the preliminary exam will be based on topics like General Science, History of India, Polity, Indian Economic and Social, Economic and Cultural questions from the stage of Haryana. The HPSC HCS mains exam will have questions from Hindi, English and General Studies while the optional subject will have questions related to the optional subject which the candidate chooses.

The question papers are the best source of study material that candidates need in order to prepare for the exam. Candidates must download them and solve them in order to effectively practice for the HPSC HCS 2020 exam. The HPSC HCS answer key 2020 will be released after the complete recruitment process is over. The answer key will contain all the correct answers to questions asked during the exam. As per the HPSC HCS salary, the Haryana Civil Service officer gets a salary of 39,100 - 56,100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400, that of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) is Rs. 39100-56100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400. The salary is apart from the allowance like TA, DA, HRA and others.
As per the selection process of the Haryana Public Service Commission, the Haryana Civil Services exam is conducted in three stages.
